It looks like those universal screens use the same clamps that go round the bars that attach to the screen, they're just bolted to handlebar clamps instead. So, you could use those to attach to the handlebar clamps if you buy some longer M8 bolts and some tube spacers. You could also ask Twisted Throttle if any of the model specific fitments attach in the same way as the Zero ones.

Yeah, that's my point.  I don't see the "Zero" ones, unless it's one of the other manufacturer options.  I'm back to buying the Zero screen to be safe unless somebody knows for sure.

The Zero handlebars in the middle are 1 1/8" (28mm) diameter where you'll be mounting them (https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Handlebar).

The 25mm kit with long arms can work if you pick midway up the arms of the handlebar, but that takes more work to ensure a good solid mount because of the taper.

I was asking myself the exact same questions in 2017.
I have written this page at this occasion : https://bit.ly/MRA_FXS
Perhaps you can find some answers to your questions

Wow gt13013.  You read my mind.  Thanks for making that page!

Unfortunately mounting to the bars would be my least favorite option, for the same reasons.  Perhaps I'll have better luck in the USA mixing something that will work.

I think the only difference between them is the Zero ones have 'Zero' printed on them.

And yes, the Zero windscreens merely bolt to the bars.

In case I was unclear, all universal windscreens mount to the handlebar; that's what makes them universal. A handlebar is the only thing a manufacturer can rely on being present and easy to mount to.

Motorcycle-specific fitments will rely on existing bracketing and fasteners in order to make a sturdier 4-point mount. Even if they rely on bar risers, the position and construction of those risers varies enough that the windscreen becomes specific to a model or platform.

There is no such fitment for FX/FXS bikes that I'm aware of.

And Zero's windscreens are just Zero-branded MRA hardware. There are no significant modifications, just choices about which hardware to use.

I have measured the distance between the handlebar bolts and my MRA windscreen. I added 2 pictures at the end of this album.
If you compare it to the estimated dimensions of MRA mounting kits on this page, it shows that the HKS-D mounting kit should be convenient (at least with my MRA V-Flow Typ C screen). You can get it on twistedthrottle.

Thanks gt.  I'll order the HKS-D first and see if it fits.

@valnar : Hello. Have you finally tested the HKS-D mounting kit?

I never did order it.  I'm still riding without a screen at all.  I've already spent too much money doing trial-and-error, so I've dropped the idea for now.
