This is the same guy who rebuilt a salt water flooded Tesla in his garage.

Rich Rebuilds has a huge following in the Tesla and DIY communities, and said a lot in his past videos praising the simplicity of using a Zero powertrain for conversions. So it’s very good that he succeeded and the vehicle isn’t too shaky.

His fabrication techniques and safety practices get on my nerves (I believe he’ll injure or maim himself at this rate), but what he did was effective. I’m glad he reaches out to professional fabricators for finished pieces.

Also, he started out knowing nothing about Zero and thankfully some Zero engineer got his ear over email, probably saving a few mistakes from guesswork.

It looks like he’ll double up batteries and powertrains next, given that he shows a second salvaged Zero at the end with a Charge Tank. We’ll see.

I posted some names from the FB page and told him to reach out to them.
I don't know who contacted who first.  There was a warning about the having the battery on it's side as an unknown safety issue but he didn't worry too much about that.
That rod must not weigh much at all I figured it would go into thermal cut back quickly (and maybe it did).

It was very cute!  This showed up in my friends' makerspace as well.

Rich is pretty cool but yeah, he plays fast and loose with safety (at least on video)
