Buy Sell Trade / Re: 2016 Zero DSR ZF13.0 $8,900
« on: October 20, 2019, 10:21:01 AM »
Battery powered quiet electric motorcycle for all types of roads. First owner, clean title, 9590 miles and set up to carry a lot of gear in comfort. I used it commuting with my work and gym gear with plenty of extra room for rain gear, spare helmet, charging equipment etc. New Pilot Road 4 Trail tires (smoother and better grip in town but still grip on dirt), full set of hard top and side cases (all can hold a full face helmet and have running and blinker LEDs), windshield and heated seat. Wiring harness for heated seat, 12V outlet and other accessories. A J1772 adapter is available for an extra charge (wall cord is included). Lots of reviews on the web. Price is firm.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / DSR Birthday List
« on: November 19, 2016, 09:34:43 AM »
My DSR is celebrating its 1st birthday! I've been riding motorcycles for 51 years and always had a few and normally commuted on them. My 2012 Zero S didn't make my top 10, my 2013 Zero DS barley broke into my top 10 but my DSR is in my top 3 along with my 1976 Yamaha RD400 two stroke and my 1985 Honda V65 Magna. Like my children I can't rank them.

Where do you put your DSR after a year? hopefully in a few years Zero will be making all of our #1 bikes.

The 2013 DS is back from the factory with a new 12.5 kWh battery but isn't ready for sale yet. I need to take some accessories off it if I decide to sell it, but I may keep it as a spare or modify it for touring. You should get 55 miles at 75 mph. I get about 55 miles with my DSR at 75-80 mph.

The last snow we had in San Diego was December 13, 1967. Don't you feel sorry for me not getting a break from commuting every day on my DSR?

Any more information on Airtech would be appreciated. I only live 20 miles from Vista and have my 2013 DS with 12.5 kWh battery just sitting in the garage. I'm only riding my DSR and could modify the DS for touring! It already has street tires on it.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Free 12.5 kW battery in my 2013 DS
« on: February 28, 2016, 05:17:43 AM »
Thanks ZERO! I had a bad BMS that was replaced but the 11.4 kW battery would not charge fully so my dealer worked with the factory and had it shipped and a new 12.5 kW battery installed. The only problems were it took a couple of months but could have done it much faster but then I would only have gotten a 12 kW 2014 battery and they reconnected and turned on my seat heat (which I had never used) so I fried my but on the highway the 22 miles home. Its had to find the switch at 80 mph with gloves on. I didn't mind the wait because I got a 2016 DSR in November (1.1 k on it). Now I have to decide if I want to keep it as a spare bike with only 4 k on it or sell it to make more room in the garage.

Another item to consider is the high cost for occasional use of CHAdeMO. I had a Leaf for over 4 years and only used DC about 6 times and still have a RAV4 EV and have only used DC twice to test it out in 4 months. Even with a 42 kWh battery to stay at 125 amps longer (almost 50 kW) the cost is higher than gas. On a ZERO with only ~12 kW the cost would be quite high with EVGo and many other chargers. I have a 60 amp EVSE at home so my RAV4 EV charges at 10 kW at home. A J1772 can even get that high at a few public chargers but most max out at 6-7 kW. Much of my travel is away from the CA coast so DC is not available. I may be better off with J1772 unless a combo 10 kW AC - 12 kW DC unit becomes available. I hope DC rates in CA drop to reasonable levels for occasional use and become available away from the coast.

Tony (a great guy) put JdeMO in my RAV4 EV. I was lucky and got Serial Number 1 because he lives only 3 miles from me. Perhaps I can get SN 1 for my DSR?
