My Zero S 2015 battery dropped to 60% capacity in September and is now in a state where I can't reliably commute with he bike. The dealer took the bike, contacted Zero and after some negotiations, Zero agreed to ship me a new battery (which will arrive in 8-10 weeks). Dealer says he has a slightly used battery (around 1000 KM) for me to use but says he won't change twice, i.e, he won't install the used battery now and then replace it with the new batter Zero sent when it arrives. From the dealer's point of view, I have two options:
1. Take the slightly used battery
2. Wait 8-10 weeks for a new battery

What are my rights here? Is the dealer/Zero obliged to provide me a new battery if my old one died under warranty? If he doesn't have a new battery, is he obliged to give me a replacement bike? I've never been in a similar situation, so I'm a bit at a loss here...

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / What's Zero-c?
« on: May 15, 2017, 12:23:10 PM »
1. This very cool article (http://www.en.netralnews.com/news/lifestyle/read/5621/the.motorcycle.showdown.gas.vs.electric) shows images of something called Zero-C. Anyone knows what it is?

2. The article says "Weirdly, though, and unforgivably, the Zero doesn’t feature traction control.". What's Traction Control and why is it unforgivable (in the author's opinion, of course) that Zero doesn't have it?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Is my battery deteriorating ?
« on: February 06, 2017, 05:13:21 PM »
Hi all.
I bought a brand new Zero S on October 2015 and rode it some 24K kilometers. In recent weeks, I feel that the capacity is deteriorating, traveling to work and back used to leave me with some 30% capacity (ZF9.4, 74 KM round trip) and now 15-18% is more common. Is there any way I can check what is the current state of battery capacity and whether I have a real problem or not?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Opening the throttle -> losing control?
« on: October 18, 2016, 04:54:00 PM »
I purchased my Zero S exactly one year ago and have rode about 18K kilometers on it. I love every aspect of it except the situations when it tries to kill me. Over the time I noticed several occasions when I was opening the throttle in Sport mode and started losing grip on the rear wheel. One time when the road was wet I actually lost control and crashed but in other situations the road was dry and I managed to re-gain control. I've been riding for 26 years, this is hardly my first bike but all of my former bikes were heavy V-twins (Suzuki VX-800, Suzuki V-Strom, etc) and this is probably the first time I'm riding such a light and fast motorcycle.

What do you think: Is this a "Zero problem" or a "light and fast motorcycle problem"? Do others here encounter this problem as well? Am I doing something wrong (i.e. opening the throttle in Sport mode isn't a good idea) or is there a problem with the bike?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Top speed at Sport mode reduced?

Hi all.
I ride a 2015 Zero S. Recently, on two separate occasions, I've noticed situations in which I opened the throttle fully on a flat, open, road but the bike refused to go above 75 MPH. I've seen it reach 93 MPH several times in the past (and since) so I can't understand this behavior. The only explanation I can think of is that my tank was at ~30%, maybe the bike is programmed to prevent me from riding too fast when the tank is low? It wasn't overheating, there was no heat indication and in the past when I encountered a heat warning I was at 75 MPH. The weather was chilly, but Israel chilly is considered hot in some parts of the world :)

Any ideas?

Hi all.
I'm a 43 biker with more than 25 years of riding under my belt. I mostly commute about 40 miles per day and never tour or travel with my bike (I don't like traveling anyway). After 25 years of ICE bikes, I have to decide between a brand new, zero kilometers Zero ZF9.4 S (2015) and an SR 2014 with some 23K kilometers. Some considerations I have:

-The S probably has superior components such as Pirelly tires (any other superior components?)
-The SR has somewhat better range (11.4 vs 9.4 on the S)
-The SR is obviously the scarier beast between the two...

Any other major differences I'm missing? Any advice you might have is welcome!
