Sevcon takes another leap
« on: July 18, 2017, 04:05:59 AM »

If you own any Sevcon stock, you'll be pleased to note that it jumped 60% today. An announcement has been made that they're going to be acquired by BorgWarner.

Really? You're showing your age there, sonny. Borgwarner has been making high-performance transmissions forever. They're a huge favorite in the hot-rodding crowd.

As far as what it means for Zero, I can't imagine it means too much. I'm sure Zero was a valuable customer for Sevcon, and will continue to be for Borgwarner. I suppose there's a slight chance Borgwarner might sink a few more R&D dollars into helping develop niche markets like electric motorcycles, which would be very cool.
