SR/F Conflicting Information regarding BMS in Owners Manual
« on: March 06, 2020, 12:26:49 PM »

Section 5.1
The power pack should not be used outside of the range of -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C);
the Battery Management System (BMS) turns off the power controller outside of this range.

Section 7.6
It is worth noting that the Battery Management System (BMS) will not allow the
power pack to be discharged below -22°F (-30°C), which is the absolute lowest
discharge temperature prescribed by the cell manufacturer.

Not that I plan to drive in such temperatures. Nonetheless: Which is true?

(I know, hair-splitting one could say that not working at -22°F includes not working at -4°F ...)

Well, it says don't use it outside of the range of -4 to 140 and -22 is most definitely outside the range.  There's a bunch of specific internal temps for each component that it will stall you at.  As long as you don't drive it at -4, I'm sure it'll never give you trouble by turning the battery straight off at -22.

Damn, I wouldn't even want to drive my CAR in those cold temperatures.  Truth of the matter is, I wouldn't want to get out from under my electric blanket in the morning either.  Of course, I live on Long Island in New York, not Duluth MN so your mileage may vary...
