Another bad customer service experience with Zero.
« on: October 12, 2015, 09:00:16 AM »

I have had my Zero since 2012 and had loads of problems with the throttle cutting out.  Returned to the dealer over and over for "fixes" that never worked. Now the only place in town is no longer a dealer. Loads of emails and calls trying to get anything done just stops cold every time.  I loved the idea of having a zero, but the company has ruined it.

Sorry to hear that, but thanks for sharing.  I'm on the fence about buying a Zero and joined here to see what I can learn before jumping in.  I've test ridden the bikes and would be happy with one if it worked.  Stories like yours make me think I'm not going to buy one.   :'(

It is unfortunate when someone has a bad experience with their zero and a dealer who can't take care of the fixes that are necessary. However there are those of us who are near good dealers and have excellent experiences with customer service.

As long as you have a Zero that was made in 2013 or later then you will probably be very happy with your purchase.

The 12's are best described as early adopter machines, and need a lot of owner TLC in the way a 1930's ICE might. ;)
Personally I consider them to be a late prototype for the ZF tech based bikes introduced from 2013 onwards.

If you are willing to give Zero another shot, or plan to stick with them in the near future, I'd REALLY consider trading in the 2012 for a 2014 using Zero's own trade in program.

I personally ride a 2013 here in the UK (which believe me has a VERY limited dealer presence) and I've found the 2013 to be leaps and bounds better than the 12's (which I have also owned)

Why is this in the 2013-2015 page?

Because the <=12 page seems to be dying slowly?

That's to be expected, as the number of 2010-12 bikes on the road diminishes, and more 15's and 16's are made. It's still no reason for the post to be here. If his dealer is gone, it was probably a bad one and there's not much Zero could do for him now other than trading the bike for a 2014 if that program's still active. Venting to us won't do anything.
