Energica / Getting Energica Parts
« on: May 17, 2024, 11:49:49 PM »
I hear it is almost impossible to get parts from Energica these days. One guy I know has been waiting for more than a year for his Rebelle Fork seals. Still has not heard anything.

And many of us are still waiting for an Experia centerstand since we first got our bikes.

What is the problem with getting Enegica parts these days?

Is it just a USA problem or is it the same in Europe?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / 2017 Zero SR FW update problem
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:41:07 PM »
2017 Zero SR with power tank.

I used the Zero App, it sees the bike fine until I go to FW updates, There, it does NOT read to old FW version and it will not update a new one, the circle thingy just keeps on spinning for an hour as if it were trying to work, but never stops spinning.

So I cannot tell what FW the bike has and if it needs an update or not,

Are others having this problem?

Energica / A&S Roseville, CA
« on: April 26, 2024, 06:31:16 AM »
I just heard that A&S, an Energica dealer close to me, has given up, or soon will give up, on trying to unload Energica motorcycles. Because of very poor sales.

I will take a ride down there on my Energica Experia tomorrow.  It needs the FW update. I wonder if they will still be able to do such or if I will have to go all the way to Livermore.

Energica / FW Version 44
« on: April 21, 2024, 11:15:45 AM »
I bet that woke you all up! But no, it doesn't exist--yet.

But I am wondering if there will be a new version of FW to make our Energicas compatible with Teslas V3 & V4 Superchargers that do NOT have Magic Dock.

I know that Fords and Rivians can now use the V3 & v4 (250 kw) Superchargers, not sure about Chevy. I realize the vehicles need to first get an update to make them compatible with the V3 and V4 Tesla Superchargers.  The Fords and Rivians will NOT work without the update, except for those few with the Magic Dock.

I already have a couple of Tesla SC to CCS adapters.  They do not work, which makes me wonder what the difference is between the Telsa SCs with and without the Magic Dock.

Anyway, I do realize we would need a FW update to use the non-Magic Dock V3 & V4 Tesla Superchargers. Will it exist??  Should I wait for it or just get my V 43 and forget about ever using the V3 & V4 Tesla SCers?

Energica / Energica will be Plug & Play at Tesla Superchargers?
« on: March 21, 2024, 06:39:26 AM »
I heard a rumor that Energica is now working with Tesla for the Plug & Play charging at all the V3 & V4 Tesla Superchargers.

Can anybody here confirm or deny?

If so, I will skip the latest 43 FW update and wait for the 44 or whatever they will call it.

General Discussion / 900 Fast chargers per week?
« on: January 17, 2024, 01:32:24 PM »
See here.

"That's 900 new EV chargers each week, or more than 46,000 per year."

But IMAO, the number means little. The locations mean a lot.

Energica / FW version 43
« on: December 17, 2023, 11:45:20 AM »

I asked about the FW Version 43 at the shop in Roseville, CA.  I have not had a chance to get my Experia there for the update, but I will ASAP, weather at the 7,240' summit permitting.

I mainly asked about my 2020 SS9- as it is already in Auburn, CA and I rode it down there to the shop yesterday. My Experia is here in Reno.

I wanted to know if this new FW was compatible with my 2020 Esse Esse 9-.

They said they must ask Energica and get back to me.

Here is what I received via Email:

" after asking Energica, for the VIN you provided the most recent firmware that has been tested is v.42, not v.43. It is unknown if that software would work on that bike. If you wanted to take the gamble, the cost would be $131.25. "

So it looks like not even Energica knows what bikes their own FW will work with.

But what is the V.43? I know it allows better CCS charging (especially with Magic Dock) and has a few bug fixes (that my Experia really needs, and I assume the same goes for all the others with the older FW). But is this V.43 a patch or an entire new FW?  If it's an entire new FW, I don't see how it could work on my 2020 Esse Esse 9-. Totally different menus and all.

So what improvements have Experia owners noticed with V43?  And has anybody here used it on any bike other than an Experia?

General Discussion / 900 mile (1,500 km) range with 10 min charge
« on: December 15, 2023, 12:35:13 AM »
Or is this just more EV battery vaporware?

"A higher-performance version is still under research and development but has the potential to deliver 50% more cruising range — over 900 miles, according to Toyota. That could get you from New York to Chicago and then some, and charge time would be just 10 minutes."

General Discussion / Ham radio ops here?
« on: October 15, 2023, 08:05:40 AM »
I assume there are a few other ham radio operators in this forum.

Let's start a list of them.

I am AA6GA.

I only work CW and only on HF. From both houses as well as from my RVs.

I will soon be leaving in my newer RV towards Utah, with my 2017 Zero DS on the hitch.

Electric bikes are great for RV travel. Since there is no clutch, I can use its power to get up the cycle ramp on the hitch of my RV.

Anyway, I will be on the air from my newer Class A RV in a few days. First from Utah. Not sure where I will go from there.
