Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / WTB: Used Zero Quick Charger
« on: March 22, 2019, 11:40:49 PM »
With many people upgrading to DigiChargers and other fast charging systems, if anyone has a "Quick Charger" (or 2) that are just collecting dust, I'd be interesting in buying them second hand.

Is swapping a charge tank or power tank a rider DIY job or must it be done at a dealer?

I ask as I have a (used) 15 SR and was wondering I could be on the lookout for a user power or charge tank.  Someone not too far is selling a 16 DSR with charge tank.  Was contemplating making him an offer for the charge tank if a) the 16DSR is compatible with the 15SR and b) it's something I could do easily enough, to remove and button up from his and then install on mine.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Trailering a Zero
« on: February 12, 2019, 09:14:36 PM »
I have a Subaru Outback with a trailer hitch.  IIRC, the tongue weight limit is 200lbs.  I swear this is the same limit as on my SUV I owned previously as well.

I would like to bring my Zero with me on a trip next month for use while out of town on the daily driving.  But the bike weighs what, 450ish pounds.

I'd like to use one of those hitch carriers rather than a wheeled trailer.  But I just don't think that's possible with my vehicle, and probably for safety reasons if nothing else.

Can anyone confirm this?  That if I want to move the bike, I need a proper wheeled bike hauler?

Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Cold / Winter "long term" storage question
« on: December 09, 2018, 09:03:50 PM »
Just bought a 2015 SR 12.5 last week.  It is parked in my unheated but attached garage.  It's cold, but not frigid.  Battery is about 90%, but it's also 30 degrees outside.  Instructions read:

> For long term storage (>30 days) of your motorcycle, you should reduce its state of charge to
> ~60% state of charge prior to storing it.

Short of taking it out and riding it, is there any way to discharge the battery?  Turn on the ignition and let the light drain it overnight?  Car thermotmetr usually reads 45-50 when I start up, that about what the room will get to.

Thoughts?

Newbie here, apologies in advance.

Purchased a 2015 SR 12.5 last night used.  I can not say for 100% certain below was not present during either prior to my test ride or my 2 mi ride home after pulling it from the truck, but it's concerning, but hopefully nothing.

When I turn the ignition on, the "System Warning Indicator" (triangle) blinks non-stop.  In the manual, there are "number of red flashes" codes, but this never stops.  The 1st line in the manual appears to be solid, meaning not flashing.

As soon as I lift the kickstand, it goes away.  I'm simply hoping I'm mid-reading and the flashing means "not ready to ride" and nothing bigger.  Can someone please confirm?

Second, I installed the Android app, followed the instructions on pairing, got the bike to flash BT and I see the bike in both the app and Android BT conection, but when I go to connect, it fails (connection failed).  Thoughts?  Pixel 3, newest OS.

Thanks much - hope to contribute more than take from the group as time progresses.
