Title: Noisy Regen
Post by: NoiseBoy on May 06, 2013, 04:10:38 AM
Took me a while to work out where it was coming from but when braking I was hearing a sort of mid-pitch honking noise.  At first I thought it was a warped brake rotor but it did it with both front and rear brakes which is when it clicked.  I always ride in sport mode but switched to eco and sure enough when i shut the throttle it made the noise.  So it must be the motor under regen.  Its a similar noise to what you hear under high current conditions when the motor is wet.

Anyone else hearing odd noises?

I am not sure if I hear the same, when I use the front or rear brake only a bit ( the light went on but I think the brake will not really work) I hear also a pulsing / humming.

I always believed it is the motor regeneration.

What confused me lately, I have disabled the regen working synchronous with the brake light; because I have built a stepless  regen brake over wintertime and I still hear this sound if I apply the brake.

But I have to double check my secvon settings maybe I didn't disable the brake-light trigger :-\
