Does Zero participate in the IOMTT? VIP tickets just went on sale this week...

I don't know the answer to your question, but saw this electric Zero at Alice's restaurant in Woodside today, a week after the Mexico-to-Canada rally event: http://wordpress.allelectricvehiclerally.org/ (http://wordpress.allelectricvehiclerally.org/)

I don't recall a Zero at the TT yet, there has been rumors that Lightening might put in an appearance next year, but I expect McGuiness/Mugen Shinden to dominate next years field.

I would be nice to see a few more bikes entering the TT-Zero though. No reason a properly modified SR or Empulse could not be competitive mid runner over the mountain course, however both would need some modification to reach a higher top end speed.

I think the 25 tooth front / 98 tooth rear gearing would be perfect for the mountain course. This would increase top speed for the SR to around 110-115 mph, but perhaps more importantly increase efficiency and power above 60 mph.

I'm not sure if the power tank would be required or not. The SR could probably push the limits of the ZF11.4 battery. The S would probably be fine with the "smaller" battery.

Either bike with some minor modifications for racing - air ducting for the motor, race rubber, etc - and a skilled rider would probably be competitive with full race bikes in 2010.

I'm considering attending so I was curious if I might witness them racing, meet the Zero team or riders.
