Buy Sell Trade / Stolen 2013 Zero DS
« on: May 26, 2017, 05:52:06 PM »
!!Stolen!
Attention Austin people. My 2013 Zero DS motorcycle (actually my entire white 6x12 enclosed trailer) was stolen from the storage facility in Del Valle. I have insurance, but still sucks. If anyone hears anything. What I will miss even more was that magical Chris Birch 6'0 surfboard. Sure I hadn't used it in years, but I loved it. (among other 1 off things I just couldn't part with over the years). Not the end of the world, just wanted to get the word out.. thanks. (feel free to repost as I really don't know many people in Austin).

I would want the SOC state to be that?  You mean, that's what you would expect it to have dropped?  Will it charge back up to 100% ok, or will the battery capacity be permanetly lowered?

4
Let's say a bike was left unplugged in enclosed storage for like.. 4 months? a year?  I suppose the best thing to do would be to plug it in right away before attempting to turn it back on?

5
Sure, buy a power wall for $7k (+install since they won't sell without a certified installer) when you have a perfectly good 12.5kw pack in the bike though.

6
I am of no help other than to say, I'd like to know how.  Some day, people will use these battery packs for more than just go juice. Multipurpose a bike for an off grid cabin you say?  Sure plug this in and that and wala. Some day. (And there's a company waiting to be born supplying a kit to the public.. I suspect tesla will be the first)

Mine does the RPM increase with horn thing too. I was driving down the road, held the horn (remote area.. No cars/people) and the Rpm's just went steadily up. Odd behavior, but I can live with it just fine if that's all it is.

8
And now it goes faster and can do wheelies right? ;)

I got mine back yesterday. They said they'd check with Zero about the aux charge port fuse (weather or not it got swapped out to the 100amp fuse).

9
Well crap.  Thanks for the heads up though. I'll check charging before I take it away from the dealer.

Uhh.. What's this fuel for life deal?

Are the 2014's the 11.4kw battery?  Are they being swapped out for 12.5's like the 2013's?
I'm very curious to see how my '13 behaves after the battery swap. In particular how much performance is cut when the charge gets low. (70mph constant until just a few blocks from my place. Was scarey having to ride the shoulder at 40-50mph once when I was low.. Still made it home, but was crawling)

5,6, and 10 seem like easy wins and I would agree they would be nice to have. (I like some of the others too, but they probably cost more to implement).

I couldn't find an alternative rack. You could have someone weld something, but you'll have to do the leg work to find a shop.
I got the givi Trekker 33's in black. The rear turn singles get a very slight bend from the cases, but they're fine by me.

Has anyone gotten their upgraded bike back yet?

I'll give that a try. Just coat the outside area of the seals correct?  No surgery required. (?)
