Looks like a bot to me. This thing also made a random post in the Tesla news thread.

Here is more Tesla news that I am sure they didn't want to have to deal with. Once this sort of thing starts, every small-time criminal jumps on the bandwagon and creates problems for Tesla EV owners who used to depend on always finding a charging station running when needed:

In other news: President Biden just raised the import tariff on Chinese electric vehicles to 100% of their value and it was also raised on Chinese solar panels, but I am not sure if it was the same amount (having just heard the headlines and not all of the story).  These tariffs are not going to expand the sales and implementation of solar panels to meet government goals, plus they add to the overall inflation rate and no doubt pour fire on the two country's trade war.

A short news report on the radio this morning said that the very well-off town of Tiburon in Marin County, has bought E-bikes for their cops so that they can chase after kids on E-bike exceeding the speed limit on their hiking and biking trails (most of which are paved). This should be fun.  ::)  Who will be riding the fastest E-biks?  My money is on the teenagers of very rich parents.

Here is the New York Times article that was published in my newspaper today regarding the subject matter.

Are you using the Zero Next Gen app? The old Zero Motorcycles app cannot pull the firmware data from their servers. You need to use the Next Gen app.

I recently tried to check my firmware with the old app for my '18 FXS, and it was stuck spinning looking for firmware. Then I installed the new app and it worked. The sad part is my firmware version requires a dealer to install it.

Thanks, the new version works fine, sees the bike and all, but:

MBB is version 33, latest is 39.

BMS1 is version 40, latest is 46.

BMS2 is Version 40,  latest is 46.

All three updates require the dealer.

Same stuff with my 2017 Zero DS, except it only has one BMS (no pwr tank).

Anybody here know if any of these updates do anything useful?

Useful for the dealer maybe, if it requires you to visit your dealer to have the updates installed. That gives them some action and while your bike is being updated (or you are waiting for that to happen) the dealer gets to put the screws to you to buy a new and even more updated Zero.   ::)

I continue to find the timing of the SuperCharger staff firing interesting.  Just a day or two after the Governor was shown on TV, driving a Tesla up to a SuperCharging station, where he announced that other brands of EVs would be allowed to use the SuperCharger network. It sure seems like some sort of political gotcha to Newsom by Musk - with the employees taking the real impact of that little pout.  (Or so it seems to me.)

I am using the old Zero app, too. My bike is running great and still charges to 100% and the app works fine for checking the health of the battery and for setting up the user performance system, so I don't think I will mess with anything.  When my 2014S failed to charge to 100% and kept getting worse as time wore on, the solution to the problem was to replace the OBC. After doing that, everything went back to normal.

What I would like to know is why did he get rid of the entire SuperCharger division?  Was it just to save money, did he have an axe to grind over some people in the division, or did it just feel good to screw over his employees and potentially the people that need to use the system in the future - like owners of Ford EVs? The guy is apparently really smart, but scary as a businessman and I sure wouldn't want to work for him.

But then I never understood from a financial point of view, why he bought Twitter and then pretty much destroyed it, so that it is now only worth a fraction of the price that he bought it for and only has a fraction of the former number of people using it. (Plus, calling it "X" makes it very awkward for anyone quoting a post from it.)

Resize the pictures, any photo processing program, even your smart phone should be able to do that easily.
I think max size is 600k total, so if need be, post 1 picture per post.
Aaron

That is what I do when I want to post 1MB photos taken with my digital camera. I download them on to my desktop running Microsoft Windows 10 and use its editing option to resize the photos.

Looking for recommendations. I already have a lift for the rear wheel but I'm looking for a front wheel lift that will allow me to remove the front wheel. Thanks in advance!
Just lift the entire bike up with a Black Widow lift, And I did that with my Zero SR with power tank, lifted from the plastic under the OBC.  Did no damage and can take off both wheels at the same time, or just either one.

But, it could be best to install the crashbars first, because that replaces the plastic OBC bottom with a metal one. But I did mine on the stiock plastice with no issue.

I have done the same thing with my 2018S with Power Tank.

I thought Zero had ended FW updates for their "legacy" models.  ???  When I checked my Zero app last week it wasn't showing any available new FW updates for my 2018S with PT. I guess I will try now and see if anything comes up.  I just spent a couple of minutes watching the Firmware Update yellow spinning checker spin without any results. So I gave up watching it spin and shut down the app. My guess is that Zero has done all of the updates on the 2014-2019 models that they are going to do and have moved on to the latest generation of bikes.

I get all of my news from the print version of the Mercury News, affiliated with the Bay Area News Group (which I have delivered to my home every morning) or from the all-news Bay Area KCBS radio station. If I get any news from the internet (such as YouTube) I would reference it or provide a link to the article.

So what is up with Musk - again?  The day after California's governor proclaimed that Ford and a couple of other auto brands would now be able to access Tesla Superchargers, news reports are saying that Musk fired his entire Supercharger installation and maintenance department, even the interns that were working in that division. As usual, everyone, including the workers and likely even the governor were blindsided by his action. What a guy!

With this being said it looks like I am going to be tearing up toe draggers instead of knee draggers until I figure something out here.  Is this something that is replaceable on a boot, or do they make a boot where it is replaceable?  Tires are expensive enough I really don't want to go thru a few boots a season as well.

Someone said to me that racing is one of the most effective ways to burn money  ;D

I guess for all Alpinestars boots are toe sliders available for replacement. I know for sure for SMX5 and SMX6 at least.
BTW Dainese have screw-ons, plastic and for some boots even metallic.

I think that owning a boat or private airplane could be an even more effective way to burn money than racing.

That review of the Anthem was not exactly a glowing one. The reviewer didn't like the seat, the suspension, the range, the weight of the removable battery pack, the way the speed dropped rapidly as the battery SOC dropped and the price.
