problem with throttle
« on: January 12, 2019, 01:16:10 PM »

Hello, I'm an Italian owner of a SR '18 since last may. after a bad fall, I had to take apart the handlebar for some fixing. After putting everything together again, the throttle command do not work anymore. Everything is correct at mechanical level, but turning the throttle does not have any effect on the engine. The dashboard appear normal, with no warning whatsoever.
The dashboard says: Error code 0001 (high throttle)
Any suggestion?

High throttle probably means that your throttle isn't fully connected, electrically. Check connectivity.

Those standard throttles are very fragile, I've broken one trying to slide on a new grip.

It's possible that the plastic inside the throttle deformed and the spring got free.  It's not an easy fix.

I'd suggest replacing it completely with a Domino throttle.  I did, they seem more robust.

The unofficial repair manual describes this as well.

specifically,

there's also a thread here at EMF about the domino throttles.
