How to change the Bike Timeout in the MBB?
« on: June 17, 2021, 07:28:28 PM »

Hello,

Can you help me with how to change the timeout (time of inactivity before the bike turns itself off), when the key is on.
I saw BrianTRice mention a variable of 1800s set in the MBB. Is that true, and how can I change it?

Thanks for your help!:)

Unless you've got a very old bike, you pretty much can't change any parameters in the MBB anymore.

The unofficial manual has instructions on how to talk to the MBB through which depending on the bike's age, you can make a lot of changes. Once your connected to the MBB in terminal, it's pretty easy to navigate and poke around.

If you look at the code reported here
https://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=7561.msg67027#msg67027
you will find a line
hibwait              Wait time before hibernate                      1800 seconds

The first lines of the report say that it is possible to change these parameters.

I don't know if it is this time that you are interested in.

In case, you will probaby find useful material in this video

Hey,
thanks a lot! I think that's what I've been looking for:)
I have never logged into the BMS, only into the MBB. That's why I never found this setting. I'll check with my bike later.

Thanks again!
