Lately I have experienced a momentary power interruption every now and then when accelerating from a stop. There is seems to be no obvious pattern to the issue, other than it happens when leaving a stop and when my speed is about 10 mph.  It happens perhaps every fifth ride and only lasts a for a fraction of a second.  I originally thought that my glove was slipping on the throttle grip and that was causing the problem.  But today I am pretty sure that my glove did not slip when it happened again. No big problem as long as it doesn't get worse. Today I was riding in light rain when it happened, but I did that yesterday and didn't experience the "glitch".  Anyone have any thoughts?   ???

You may wish to check the kickstand sensor. Sounds like it may be jostled by the weight of the kickstand moving during initial acceleration.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: My first 54 miles with the SR/F
« on: February 16, 2020, 12:58:50 AM »
Hey all,

I received my SR/F today, and quickly fell deeply in love with this bike.  However, with just 54 miles on the odometer, the drive belt broke this afternoon.  Luckily, I was just a mile from home, so I was able to walk it home and dejectedly put it in the garage.

I phoned the dealer.  He was shocked.  I hadn't been doing any crazy riding; it seems to have been a manufacturer defect in the belt.  He phoned Zero.  They also were shocked.  Apparently, this is unheard of.  I'm just lucky, I guess.   ::)

Anyway, everyone's moving quickly to get me a new belt, and it sounds like the dealer is going to come to my house (35 miles away) to install it.  So although I'm really, really bummed to have this super-sweet new bike already out of commission, I'm happy with the response so far by both the dealer and Zero.

Until this happened, I was thoroughly enjoying the bike.  It feels compact, super-quick, very stable, and well planted.  It's so easy to ride!  Going back to my Yamaha Super Tenere, it all feels so huge, heavy, and complicated.  The SR/F is a total delight for zipping around my local roads!  I can't wait to get a new belt on it.

Take heart Fred. It does happen.  And there are belts out there that have a higher amount of carbon fiber that last a bit longer. It is the same with brake pads, you can definitely upgrade to a better belt.

I just love the fact that Harley spent millions in advertising hype to help sell the SRF for Zero. A better bike and 10000 dollars cheaper!

We hit 22 below zero here in the Great Lakes and my SR was out in the unheated garage charged at 80%. We got up to 40 degrees and I took it for a spin and then charged it up, no problem. Been riding off and on depending on weather. No problems here at all

Phil from Cleveland Moto is not only fully informed, he stays on top of the latest things from Zero. He has a vast working knowledge of Zero ownership and riding. You cannot go wrong with these guys.

It would be unwise to underestimate the appeal of the "commuter-only" machine, even if commuting is truly the only purpose for the vehicle. For most drivers, commuting is far and away how they spend the majority of their miles.

But these bikes are far more versatile than that, anyhow. I've done club rides from where I live in El Cajon to Borrego Springs, about 150 miles round trip. Granted, I generally meet my club partway up the ride after a fresh recharge, and convince them to stop in Borrego for another recharge, then break off early for a final recharge, but so what? I still get to do >50% of the ride with them, and the rest by myself, and it's a great day of riding.

I've also ridden up to visit my family in Orange County, 180 miles or so round trip, which also works out great. I also did a one-day 263-mile trip, just so I could join the "250 miles in one day" club. It was a long day but a good day.

For me, I don't WANT longer trips very often, if ever. It just means more time spent in the saddle with a sore butt and stiff legs. They're supposed to be pleasure rides, not bummer rides.
I couldn’t agree with this more.  I am looking for a e-motorcycle for the everyday short trips and short pleasurable rides.  I still have my ICE tourer  with big comforatable seat and forward foot boards for the long trips.  The SR/F fits perfectly in this plan.  But that is just me,  I know everyone’s needs are different.

Perfect. I keep my Vulcan for the really long trips, but it just gathers dust. When I finally hop on it, it feels like a locomotive, slow, dirty, and noisy.

I have access to a wall outlet in the garage at work.
Does the SR/F charge from this directly or do I need an adapter to go to the J1772?
You may charge it from the wall with a supplied adaptor

Hey I was pretty close with what I surmised back in January. Although the extra battery capacity is an option. Yay me

Never a single problem with my 2018 SR and we have had arctic conditions and 100 degree days

2018 SR with just a slight modification I hit 3 seconds or maybe a skosh under.

Who else is hoping the acceleration specs include the phrase "warp speed"?

The Harley Livewire specs are not very impressive. Zero will crush their specs and probably their price with the SR/F.
It is actually genius on Zero's part. Harley does all the hype about electric bikes, and anyone who shops, buy the Zero

Call a local tow company and tell them the charge station owner has a lucrative offer for them
