My thoughts after watching that "review" is that the price is way too much for a "city bike". Anyone wanting a bike to get around urban areas can find a decent electric motorcycle or scooter for a fraction of the price that Livewire wants for the S2. Maybe a few people would want to buy one if it was branded H-D, but Livewire? It just doesn't make any sense at a price of $15.5K (plus fees and taxes) for the base model and a few thousand more for the premium European launch version with a paint job that takes 5 days to apply. :o Just what you want to ride around in a congested city. ::)

Huge mistake to not have Level 3 charging like the LW1. I think that significantly limits it's possibilities.

Agreed, hell even if you can only snag a 10 minute charge, if it's a fast charge and that gives you 30 miles of range, well worth it still. That pretty much eliminates taking the bike anywhere that you are not planning on overnighting or at least spending most the day at, because that's what its going to take to recharge it. Remove features off a new bike? makes no sense.

Im going to have to try one of these, just to check it out.
He underestimates how wonderful NOT having to play with a clutch is in stop and go traffic, when the highway is backed up for 7 miles, and you are stuck in it. OH, and not baking your ass off either from all the heat being given off by the engine.
Now all we need is some new tech on the batteries to say 4 or 5x their ranges and these are golden!

I rented a Zero in Miami early this year, which is what made me buy one. I found myself stuck in traffic where I moved 1k feet in 15 minutes. Imagine Miami heat and humidity, with an engine sitting under you idling... It quickly hit me how comfortable I was sitting on the Zero.

yep yep, 100 degree august, stuck on a bridge, over the river inlet / shallower flats ocean area. Nassau Sound area. Not only the heat boiling up off the pavement BUT the humidity of all that water evaporating around you too. It was just stifling even on an E bike. My friend on his ICE was sweating like a pig, we had to pull over a few times for him to walk around and cool off a bit, find a tree or something for him to sit under and pour some water on his face. I had a usb fan on my bike, I put it behind the windshield, plugged it in, aiming at my face. he was not happy :D
You are not burning up all your gas either, or burning up your bike. That sitting there, seen a LOT of bikes overheat real fast. Those fans coming off those radiators will make life misearable just as quickly.... oh and the tailpipe, that feels real nice on your leg.

It is times like that when you really appreciate being able to legally split lanes in California. :)

I don’t hesitate to split anywhere, and FL drivers are good about it. But in my case the problem was a lot of mixed traffic trying to cross sides. Splitting would not work at all. It’s not always possible.

Grip heaters?

Anyone else hope they configure the modular platform more to their liking? How about wondering if these things can be made to go faster, not that I would care for road use. It is less than the Livewire one by a tiny bit. It needs some knee pads, hurts to look at those things that could be on your knee.

Yes you can add heated grips. It has a P&A under the seat for up to 10amps
