Really good review. That sums up a lot of my own experience in riding the SR so far.

That review matches my experience with the SR better than the other ones. I understand the other authors trying to appear balanced in their opinion, but when you ride an SR it just blows you away in so many ways!

And they compared 2011 vs 2014. As if they know I am on a 2011! Or for that matter the last couple of zeros into Oz before the 2014 ones.

I finally got around to reading that review, and something looked different about the mirrors. I finally realized they've oriented them upside-down. Has anybody tried that? I rather hate the mirrors on my '14 SR, and now I'm wondering if they would work better upside-down.

Yes, quite a few 2013 owners (like myself) settled on rotating the mirrors upside down for slightly better visibility, and less trouble with the mirrors moving because the tips brush against objects.

When I bought my 13s, I got Harlan at Hollywood electrics to swap them out for '12 mirrors. He had a whole box of them at the time... apparently many people swapped out the 12 mirrors for some aftermarket mirrors. When I bought my 14 SR, I put my 12 mirrors on it.
the 12 mirrors are about the same length as the 13+ mirrors with the mirrors upside down. For me, and because I lane split to commute, I take my 12 mirrors and orient them upside down for even more clearance.
My buddy with a 13s actually removed his mirrors and swapped them... left mirror on right stalk and vise versa. He says that his mirrors (which are oriented right side up) have the same lenght as rotating the mirrors upside down.

In fact, Zero should use the SDK to pull numbers from the bike, similar to their bluetooth app, and market the helmet as an accessory. Very jealous of the lane splitters (illegal here) as this feels like the perfect bike for it.

Sweet jeebus, I do want one of those, but only after I can try one on. Helmet fit is so critical that I can't drop that kind of money even though the concept is great, and Zero integration would be wildly motivating. I at least use a RiderScan (http://www.huntercreate.com/shop/riderscan (http://www.huntercreate.com/shop/riderscan)) to catch my blind spots.

Both of those are very interesting. Is there a picture somewhere of the RiderScan mounted on your bike? I too am not finding the position of the mirrors very practical.
