Brian, the C19 connector supplied supports up to 20A and can also do 2500W with L2 charging at 240V.  The (included) NEMA 5-15R pigtail is connected as an adapter to the C19, but both L1 and L2 charging options are available.

Per Electric Terry: "At Hollywood Electrics, they take each charger, and put two new ends on it, an Anderson connector and extension to fit the Zero motorcycle and a higher current connector, instead of the C13 connector, they install a higher amp C19 connector and give you the matching end on the J1772 side.  Then they also have each one programmed for the specific charging algorithm of the Zero, and fine tune and test it. "

Hollywood Electrics has been fantastic every time I've talked to them, I'd be happy to buy stuff from them in the future.  Sad to let this one go.

Hi Brian!

I got it with the standard connector setup pictured on their website, and it will support J1772 with an adapter. https://hollywoodelectrics.com/product/elcon-quick-charger/

"Units are available to be shipped anywhere in the world" is not poorly worded, it means they claim 'units are' in stock now (which of course they are not actually).   Hollywood Electrics says they were told the product will be available in 6 weeks.  I strongly dislike false claims by dealers who in so doing ultimately harm the market for a technology I am excited about by eroding confidence.  Same goes for DigiNow, actually.

PlatPays, the Grand Canyon Cycles page for the supercharger says "units are available to be shipped".  Did they give you a shipping date when you placed the order?

In case anyone didn't read about the display of this bike at the Indonesian auto show, BikeEXIF has some nice photos.   I want this as a kit!

Thanks for the link!

I'm not a big fan of the fairings but Ok, this kit, or at least an equivalent needs to come here and be available stat. I'd be all over this day one. Any fabricators/modders in Socal that can do this?  ;D

Cheers emoowear!  I wholeheartedly agree.

I believe this meets the definition of full fairing as seen on most Ducatis, in that it covers the lower half of the bike as well.   Most don't do anything elaborate with the wheels.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: No service manual available?
« on: May 03, 2016, 01:32:35 AM »
Terry, I respectfully disagree.  It is absolutely Zero's job to provide service and repair documentation.  Lack of proper technical data could cause injury or death to someone performing maintenance, as well as putting a rider at risk afterwards. Conversely, there is no law requiring repair work to be performed by a dealer so anyone who could legally perform the work should have access to important safety information.  I can only presume what the Zero dealers currently have access to is useable enough to consider a Service Manual, so the extra cost argument is questionable.

While the only law on the books for Right to Repair legislation is in Massachusetts with a nationwide agreement by 2018, motorcycles are currently not included in that bill.  Zero may be legally exempt from providing technical documentation to their owners and independent repair shops, but I believe they are not ethically exempt.

Also I don't mean this to sound angry, it's just my soapbox as an electronics engineering technician.  Pat Charger on the head for me!  :)

I emailed them and got no response about the status of these (I am order #6), has anyone received theirs yet?

Its been a while since the last update, any new info on the timeline for the superchargers?

Bonkers, have no regrets for asking the questions about the factory warranty interacting with aftermarket parts, I'm certain the same questions were/will be on the minds of many people seeking faster charging solutions than Zero has provided and the discussion is very relevant.  This is especially true in light of the fact that the new charge tank being only as good as a single Elcon, aftermarket solutions are still very desirable. Your concerns were definitely reasonable, these bikes and accessories are both expensive and powerful and proper care should be taken with any vehicle powertrain decisions.  I'm glad to hear about the protective features the zero comes with beyond the input fuse, and Terry was able to convey a lot of good points that I hadn't considered about the design of the BMS on the zero as it relates to fast chargers.    Thanks for the info!

Number 6 checking in, also happy to wait for updates. I don't do long distance winter riding anyway.  Cheers!
