Obviously, as mentioned already, you can go do your commute on a single charge if you don't have access @ work.

I did the math and took into account both manufacturers claims and what little info I could find on real live miles/per charge accounts and boought the 11.4 battery before.

And on the tangent about the windscreen, I will search the forum for more info on which to go with...

Have been following this closely cos there is no aftermarket really for us...

On typical bikes, one can get Ohlins for a similar price...   can only hope that the Penske option
matches the performance of the zippy motor...

and, as stated above by another, is there any options for the front as well...

At least for me Hollywood Electric is the same state...

On another note, how difficult have you found it to work on the bike?

sent the vid to Zero...had me take it in... replaced front sprocket and woodruff key set under warranty. they were agreeable.
while i dont really like having to have had a shock and the sprocket replaced in the TIME it has cost me, it HAS NOT cost me additional $$$
glad to have it back!

Had John Logan at Zero listen to the vid.

here's what he said.

"I have had a couple of folks here listen to the video you sent.
Initial analysis sees to point to a possible loose sprocket on the motor.

If you can derail the belt (back wheel sprocket easiest to derail the belt from) then try wiggling the front sprocket on the motor shaft.
If the pulley (sprocket) moves at all that is the problem.
If this is the problem then it will be necessary to remove the sprocket, replace the woodruff key and re-insert the sprocket on the motor shaft (using green Locktite on the shaft.
This is something that is typically done by the dealers as it “may” be necessary to remove the motor to remove the pulley. UNLESS… it is so loose that it pulls right off (once retainer bolt is removed)

Please check out the front sprocket play (belt off) and let me know what you find.

If you have further questions or concerns please reply back or call me
."

This just started with my 2013 DS...

It's intermittent  when ON...always when OFF throttle/decelerating coasting...

can be replicated in OFF position...  at low/push speeds

"I've added 2" handlebar risers to assist in my preferred upright position."

Aha! What brand and model, et cet, please...  as I am keen to do this as well.

Mines a DS 2013

btw, called Zero, emailed some pics, they are going to replace it under warranty.

This very thing has now occurred to me.

I have a transferred warranty and am hoping that there is no problem.

For me, I do not feel it is safe to ride. Brake is oily and at less than 50% brake power, which is what led me to discover it!

Are there any other 38mm forks that fit the 2013 DS???

A couple of things:

1)  I regularly take road trips of 100+ miles on my 2012 Zero S, and the reason I can is because my bike is outfitted with 2 Elcon 2500W chargers from Hollywood Electrics.  Also, this summer I took a road trip across the US and more than half of our 44 days were 100+ miles.  On that trip I only had 1 Elcon 2500W charger, but mostly used the regular plugs at restaurants while eating in the middle of the day.

2)  We have discovered that many ChaDeMo stations do not work with Zero motorcycles because they are designed for higher voltages.  The 2013/14 bikes are around 105-116V and many ChaDeMo stations cut off at 200V.  Zero is working on this.

Here is the the other thread where ChaDeMo is discussed in detail:  http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=3308.0

I believe some people are working on portable chargers that will use Level 2 EVSE's to their full potential (about 6.6kW), which will get you going in about the same amount of time as a ChaDeMo charger.

One of the great design benefits of Zeros is that the battery has 2 inputs for chargers, so you can easily set it up to charge faster with a second charger!

Headed over to the link but could not suss out the pics of the bike with the aforementioned elcon chargers...  and does this require an adapter?

do folks from Zero stop by? Monitor any threads, serve as moderators?
I really love this bike and am very interested in getting 100K outta the thing!

I live in Marin and am waiting for more Chademo support to be built....helps that Tesla is nearby...

I don't know about the 2014's one, it may be bigger and longer ?
Laurent

That's a question I've had on my mind.  How hard to adapt 2014 suspension to 2013s?  I think the '14 FX was advertised as having a large head bearing so it might not be trivial to use the 2014 triple clamp in the front.  But might the improved rear shock swap for any of our bikes?

Hello People!
Just bought a 2013 Zerod DS...it had 645 miles, now has 1650 miles!  8)This thread caught my attention because, well, I gained a load of weight in my forties and am weighing like 250 these days and I fear, though I've adjusted my shocks to where I think is proper, that I may eventually have this issue. So...I am keeping an eye on this thread.

Also, to do maint, just jack her up from under the battery?
