Title: DSR Riding noises (besides motor). How many do you notice?
Post by: KuRi on June 02, 2020, 01:31:04 AM
Hi!

I have always liked the noise of my dsr motor. Sometimes I noticed other noises, like the belt running, or the front sprocket spinning when not accelerating (and then no motor noise).

But last week I think I am hearing that front sprocket spinning noise louder. I can hear it with the modular helmet closed, and I can't remember hearing it so before.

Do you know what noise I mean? That 'rrrrrrrr' that increases frequency together with speed that can be heared from the front sprocket. Classic transmission noise I guess.

Do you hear it too? The bike runs smooth and perfectly, so it is just a little annoying.

P.D: Looking for loose screws I had to tighten 3 screws from the left part of the body! The were 50% out! :S

General ref. https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Common_Sounds

Your sprocket or belt may have some debris on it, worth checking with a flashlight and maybe using a brush to clean (get the rear wheel up so it can spin freely).

Bolt checks are worth doing every few months to a year on any motorcycle, particularly for panels.

Thanks! as usual!

While checking I see there are a lot of grease on the left swingarm pivot (almost no grease on the right one), noticed after cap removal. Is this normal?
