I have 2012 DS ZF9 that I am upgrading to a 2018 FXS ZF7.2. My friend has a 2012 XU and he ask me if there would be a recall on his bike soon too. I said it must be because the have the same battery pouch setup. Is this a true statment???

Wash the bike buddy! water won't hurt it Salt will. I use pressure wash all the time but be smart about it try keep away from bearing and seal. I had my bikes so dirty you can't tell colour for the mud... drop in the mud holes for a few seconds and drove it home every time. Now I will tear it down this winter and go over it top to bottom grease and lubricate everything including connection with DC4 and corrosionX. My DS has battery that can't be removed so be sure you keep water away from the window and cover on the front of at BMS LED lights. In my FX, if I see moisture in the glass I remove the battery from the bike turn them caps off face down to dry out moisture from bat.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / 2013 FX hill climb comparison

LOL I'm always couple of years behind the curve but i finally have moved into the 2013 bike with my first FX. I've been wanting this machine for a while. It probably the best bike for my riding style. Dirt and more dirt. The 2012 DS was good and i love this bike but my FX is much suited for the off road riding

Since I've had her I've modified the rear brake to a LH hand brake, chain drive and LED lights.

I really like the hill climbing capability of these bikes and the FX is very comanding on the hills.

Here's a little video i made today, I was riding with my buddy on his Sherco 300 we did some hill climbing. This was not a race but it pretty funny how close the two bike ended up.

Hey Doc

I notice in your video you use the normal charge connection at the back of the battery. Is this for a specific reason? normally connect to the Quick charge port on the side because i have no on board charger I removed it to reduce weight and increase ground clearance. I currently can at 24 amp about 4 hr to full charge from empty on the side connection.

Thanks Jerry

I Agree bad throttle assembly seen this before, Check Connection and your wires on the handlebar if they are tight re-secure the tie wraps. if this fix the problem replace the throttle because it has some damaged wires. if you are handy you could test it, it is a 5k pot. you can get similar ones on ebay for $50. you will have splice in the old connector on.

I don't think that I have this BMS recall yet

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=QuickSearch&rcl_ID=12V310000&summary=true&prod_id=1484812&PrintVersion=YES

BMS LED is flashing this code in the BMS window.

1 red led 50 ms1 sec Number of Cell Packs Not Set ----------Contact Zero or the Dealer

« on: October 22, 2015, 05:42:40 AM »
Hi All

Sorry to say after 10,000 km Im starting to get the issue of 2-4 fault code.

Cause: Battery Management System (BMS) Throttle Disable
Solution: Contact Zero or your dealer.

I was wondering if anyone has anything new for this issue. The bike had been working flawlessly till now. last week I had the first time motor growling problem and cut out encoder issue and this evening the BMS 2-4 issue. No throttle enable bike will not move.

The bike has been stored inside and plug in most of the time.

Will the two BMS reset buttons work for this issue? Who has done this?

I still under warranty but it is still SAD!  :'(

My dealer is less than capable kind of worried, the last bike went in took many months to them even look at it. Good old Freedom Cycle! I got no problem contacting Zero if they get to slow forsure not the type to put up with BS!

Any help or info appreciated.
Jerry
