Title: New firmware and everyting is at 0
Post by: zerotracer on March 22, 2014, 01:57:05 AM
Got the new firmware update for my 2013 Zero, but now the tachometer and the charge cycles is at 0 on the smartphone app.
The tachometer on the bike is still the same as before but the app and the software think everything is new.

Maybe they forgot to calibrate the numbers, or is the software just as it is ?  :o

A low-mileage bike is a good thing. Shhh. All I had to reprogram was the Bluetooth to re-set my choices for eco mode. Nothing else was affected from my firmware update.

My 2013 S is on the recall list, and I was afraid this was going to happen. At least now I know what to expect.

I don´t think it´s the end of the World that the mileage on the speedo and the app is about 900 km. out of sync, but a TOTAL reset would have been fine,
thinking if they also had reset the speedometer mileage  ;)

The ECO control and the other things seems to be ok, but only time will show if everyting is ok.
I´m thinking of top speed, re-gen, average Watt pr. mile/km, distance to empty and so.

I have re-installed the Zero app and it is crashing Again as it did in the beginning when the bike was brand new.

The app will crash when you use "metric" system, hope my smartphone make an app update soon so it is back to normal "no crash mode"  :)

I had the same thing happen on my 2013 S ZF11.4. Odometer was 2300 km, dropped to 3 km (in the app), and charge cycles dropped to 7 from ~50.

The app probably picks up odometer and charge cycles from the MBB; I guess the latest firmware reset those variables.

The dash probably stores the odometer separately.

FYI I had the update one month ago. Then last week the BMS crashed (symptoms : bike doesnt start, battery indicator to zero even after a full charge, and blink red light). I'm now waiting for the new one...

OMG! It don´t sounds good, hope it´s only that one bike and not the new firmware there is killing the bike.

If so, it will be a disaster :'(

If my bike drive all the summer without any problems it must be ok

The firmware on my 2014 Zero S was updated about 2 weeks ago with the latest version and the only change that I have noticed is that it now charges to 98 or 99% before the charger shuts off.  But a day or two later, with the charger connected, the display pops up to 100%.  It did not do this before the firmware was updated and the power tank was installed.  I have had no issues with the mileage display or any other function of the Android smartphone Zero app before or after the new firmware.  Everything seems to be functioning and reading exactly as before - with the mileage increasing, of course.  I now have 1050 miles on the clock.   :)

The new firmware has changed something I think   ???

But good if it's true  :D

Most likely it has flipped range reporting from miles to kilometers. Odd, since other gauges on the same display report in imperial units.

Nothing at Zero on my 2013 Zero S after Firmware Update - but had not linked prior to the update.
Zero App FAQ says to reset stats after update.
"If you’ve changed your battery or updated the firmware on your motorcycle, you’ll need to press “Reset Statistics,” as the baseline values for kWH or mileage may have changed."
