New LW came with a card, needs to be activated.
I already have a Chargepoint account.
Any reason to get a second account or replace my current account such as the HD card offers some free charging?

I have several Chargepoint cards. They work at HD stations just fine, but I am probably being charged a small fee. That's probably the main difference between the LW CP card.

I like to keep a CP card with each EV (four in my case) as well as another in my wallet.

BTW, do not rely on only having the card. Yesterday, from Auburn, CA to Reno NV, well read my check-in here.

That was my very first time to use the CharePoint App.  I reported the problem with the app also.

It's not uncommon for one method to work an not the other. And it can change by the week if not day!

I have cards from all the EV chargers I have been to.

There is a EV-Connect at Cold Springs Station on Hwy 50 in Nevada. Out of cell range. So there, only the card will work. So always have more than one way to activate any charge station you can get to. That can be many cards.

I have EV-GO, GreenLots, ChargePoint, EV-Connect & Blink. Some don't use a card, such as Electrify America (Wal*Mart). And SOME of those give a lot of trouble. Just a lot of error messages. But others work fine. I have no idea why.

I probably use CP more than anything else.

A lot of info there.
Between the lines seems like you said free charging at an HD station?

Was free at first, but I think they now charge a small fee. I rarely check my Charepoint account to see how much I am being charged. But some send me an e-mail to let me know. I think what they charge, if anything,  is set at each dealer, so it can vary.

I just added the Harley card to my Chargepoint account.  I haven't tried it yet at a dealership but it should work.

Chargepoint RFID card works at stations that have connectivity issues, like maybe the station owner neglected to pay their monthly fee to chargepoint.

Chargepoint app works at stations with broken RFID readers.

So, yeah, you want both.

You can have an existing charge point account - just add it to your profile.
