« on: April 09, 2017, 08:50:05 PM »
when i am out at the track i am constantly scrapping my kickstand in the turns and it is leaving a lighter but similar mark as yours. i even thought about removing the kickstand but thought better of it.

in your situation im sure you just need to loosen, or give the bracket a little pull and it will be fine.

good luck,

laramie  ;)

nice but not to rain on your parade. i'm worried that with any real weight that single mounting point just won't suffice. that plastic tail will not last long supporting any weight either. you really need to find another point in which to secure the rack.

just my $.02,

wow, that stinks guys. nothing worse than being excited to have something and then not have it work. definition of frustration. not to defend them but they are a very small fish trying to compete in a very big pond. the farhter from home the harder it gets unfortunately.

hoping the best for ya,

yup, only takes once. as a dez, dirt rider i quickly realized that what would be a laughable get off in the dirt, can really mess you up on the tarmac.

pants and shoes are typically your biggest issues. pants are tough to deal with unless your packing a set of "over-pants." it's hard to find a pair of ballistic pants that can survive an off without skinning you alive, without looking ridiculous. unless you work as mechanic or plumber, this probably won't work for your office attire.

shoes though can be dealt with. there are lot's of "reinforced" biker shoes out there. i currently use the FLY Racing M16. i got the black and grey ones and they are pretty non-shilaunt but as soon as you put them on you can tell they aint your normal tennis shoes. crush proof soles, ankle support and bracing, and abrasion resistant fabric. they are pretty tough and are tolerable enough to wear all day.

as always it's a balance of risk vs. reward. you're the only one you can decide where to draw the lines.

probably haven't worn in the tires enough yet. they are very slippery on the edges when new. just a slight over application of throttle and whooops. you know the rest.

Well these are the jobs that are open now.

http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/company/employment.php

That is an interesting collection of open positions - especially the VP of Operations.  You would think Zero would already have one of those.   ???

i personally like that "licensed motorcyclist" is a requirement for employment.  ;D

if you go with #2 though the power is very limited. i thought i could try it at the track but no way. the bike looses way to much power and that without the weight of an additional battery. if your in town not going over 40 mph, you might be ok, but anything more i'd say no.

now that i think of it though, what about a possible option #4...

get the off-board charging adapter ($140), then buy one of the anderson connectors for the speed charger ($4), wire them up, and plug the battery into the speed charging port? don't know if it would work, but maybe.... ?????

i like mine. had to get the swing arm adapters but still was only $60 or so. it is an SRD if i remember correctly.

thanks.

someone posted that he had picked one up for under $6000 with a level-2 charger. that got me thinking as well that it might be worth the risk. i did a little looking online but had no first hand info, so this was great.

didn't see this a couple posts down?   Sudden Braking Followed by No Response on Highway

what year is your bike? 2016? if so this is at least the 2nd case. i would definitely be contacting Zero and sending some logs with a detailed description of the event.

this does not make me happy to hear...

did you email the logs to Zero with a description of what happened?

13
ouch.

this has been one of my greatest fears. i have spent years learning how to work on and fix ICE bikes when they go wrong. i know it, i'm good at it, i can fix anything. now with the zero i'm back at "zero" in many ways. i have been reading and trying to catch up as quick as i can but still admit to being a very small fish in a big-f-ing pond. the lack of info provided by Zero doesn't help. with all my orange bikes i have complete breakdowns, parts fiches, diagrams, schematics...these are the things i want.

my bike (2016 FXS) has been a little off since i took it to the track last time and completely pushed it to it's limits. i downloaded the files to look at but just went cross-eyed by the end.

let us know what you find.

Just added myself - even though my Zero FXS has been ordered but not delivered yet.

Fred, ok, I admit it too. Ordered but not received yet :)

It's funny, now that I ordered the DSR (took the plunge financially) I would also like to have the FXS.
Well, I always wanted to own several bikes, but once I had three ICE bikes, I realized that it is a pain in the behind to maintain them all.
But with electric bikes, bring them on. The more the better:)

Rider 7

yup. i used to have 7 ICE bikes in my garage at one point. i always said it was like having a room full of jealous women, all fighting for your attention. after my neck injury i stopped riding for a long time, then i found the zero's. i sold/parted 4 bikes to buy my FXS and don't regret it for a minute. my 2 real remaining bikes, ktm 990R and 525EXC, haven't moved since i bought it.

welcome to the club.

« on: January 08, 2017, 03:07:31 AM »
Are the rear sprockets interchangeable b/w '17 and older models in terms of mounting to the bike?

this is the real question. if you can't fit a bigger rear sprocket on pre'17 bikes then this is all for not...
