Title: Fitment for frame mounted fairing
Post by: quixotic on May 10, 2016, 12:32:19 AM
Has anyone tried to fit a fairing bracket to the steering head?  Somewhere I saw that someone used a honking big u-bolt, but I don't know if they met with success.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?  I guess drilling holes into the frame might work, but I'd be afraid of weakening it.

I would definitely NOT drill into the frame.  I'd look into clamps if I were you.

There is extra alloy at the front of the fork steerer so you can just drill and thread at the top and bottom.

You can then create your own custom bracket to connect to your preferred fairing.

The photos below show the top and bottom mounting bolts in front of the fork steerer and an alloy bracket that I had cut and twisted to fit an RSV4 fairing.
