Zero's Android app works on my cell phone but not my tablet.
Annoying. Anyone know why?
I'm tempted to dump my 8" tablet in favor of an 8" phone, so I can more easily read the display at a glance.
Anyone have experience with larger format phones, like galaxy note?
Thanks in advance...

Couldn't be happier with my Note 3. I'm dismayed that Sammie seems to be moving away from removable media and batteries, but the truth is I rarely swap out the media or battery anyhow. Other than that, I'm very happy with my Sammie.

Hi Togo when I first got my bike a went to download the app on my tablet and it wouldn't even show the app at the google store. I called up Zero and they said it only works on phones. I'm guessing it is to use the "send your bike log" feature. Maybe they just didn't think about tablets since they wouldn't fit in their phone holder. The app is pretty outdated now and there is talk of them updating it soon.

Try copying the apk file to your tablet then install.
May have to enable install from unknown sources in settings, but if you get app from playstore that's not a unknown source. I did that to get it on my tablets. Nexus 7 2013 and HP Touchpad.

When you develop for Android, you are allowed to specify which size, resolution and features your application supports. I presume the same is true for iOS. It takes a fair amount of time to design & test the app for all the possible combinations. I'm not surprised that they limit it to phones.
You can find more information here: Device Compatibility (http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/compatibility.html#Features)

Thanks, Doug, Justin, firepower! Very helpful!
Sure enough, taking a backup on one device, transferring the apk to another (via gdrive) and it installs and runs on my Nexus 9. I'll probably want use a more disposable tablet in actual practice, probably a galaxy tab 3 7.0, formerly on sprint.
