Buy Sell Trade / (SOLD) FS: 2015 Zero SR Red, 1262 miles, Seattle, WA
« on: March 08, 2022, 06:33:09 AM »
EDIT: Price drop to $5,000

As you can probably tell from the low mileage count, between life and a change in employment, I basically never rode this :(

It's always been stored undercover.

Accessories:
  • Responsive brake-flashing thingy - the brakes flash aggressively when decelerating
  • Windscreen
  • Cellphone holder
  • In-tank storage pouch

Would also be willing to throw in my kit - a very good jacket, boots, and two backpacks:
  • Alpinestars S-MX Plus, size 10.5 US (list $400)
  • OGIO No Drag Mach 5, HiViz Yellow (list $200)
  • Icon Squad 3.0, HiViz Yellow (list $100)
  • Klim Badlands Pro Jacket, HiViz yellow (list $600)

Some slight cosmetic damage to the left side from a low speed drop, but otherwise in good shape.

$5,000 OBO.

I had the same thing happen to me on sport mode. Other people have suggested keeping it in eco mode for risky acceleration spaces just to reduce the free spin a bit.  $500 worth of new handlebars and misc repairs and shop time wiser, I guess.

Just dropped my bike and discovered I somehow didn't have collision insurance :(

But on Geico my comprehensive with a 1k deductible is $300. That doesn't seem right, and 1k of added collision is another $860/yr. Wtf!

Are we at the point yet where this is solid, or are we still in the first dozen installs? I am not a good early customer, but will happily put my money down when it's all out of beta.

Thanks for the thoughts on the digression. My money is on too tight gloves too, fwiw. Should do some shopping!

I've got these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPGQ828/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and couldn't be happier with them. They're a large diameter, which I like, the rubber cushions are very soft, but the billet portion gives them a lot of stiffness if you lean on them hard.
Would too-small grips be why my arm and hand are cramped and tingly at the end of even a half-hour ride? I don't think I am gripping too hard... The other possibility is that my gloves may be too tight/restrictive.

If you like to work on new motorcycles to keep them running, purchase a Royal Enfield.   ;)

Your a funny guy. I love the classic style of Royal Enfields but I don't own one. I have enough to wrench on, just don't like driving a cage with trailer to get service either. I really like the electric motorcycle idea and really want to make one work for me, my style and riding area. Right now it is a research and weighing options mode. I also love the near silence when riding, my Goldwing is the closest I have gotten.
I have a Dnepr (similar to your Ural) with spiked tyres that I use in the winter season. I would really like to convert it to electric, but never had the time. That could make a good project?

Plenty of room for batteries, but man they do not roll that freely. Not gonna get far per charge.
I know the dnepr, Ural, Chang we all ride together up here in Northern New England we have some great camp outs.
I drove a Minsk in Vietnam. Now that was a wrench friendly bike. Well, wrench and hammer :D

Are... you really supposed to stick your leg out like that? Every time he did I kept wincing, but I know nothing about track racing besides what I have seen on the telly occasionally.

I am going, but since I live in Seattle I will be tossing my gear in a duffle bag and renting a car. Hopefully will get some time on some of the 2016 bikes to make it worth while!

I wish I could rent a bike!

Not really custom but painted bodywork.

Nice! Did you take those plastics to a shop or order new ones or what?

Interesting note: on my 2015SR I will pop the breaker on a 12A GFCI only for a very brief point around when I first plug in, or when it gets to or near 100÷. If I manually hold in the test under both of those conditions, it stabilizes and works fine. I have a 20A gfci to swap out but haven't yet.

Ballpark, how much did that cost,  Ben? Current thought is to get new plastics at the same time as a new charger (once those become a "thing"), and roll it all into one update.

P.S. Sorry I missed you in Seattle! Been out of the forums lately and just saw you were in town.

Hi folks!

Any custom paint jobs out there? I hear that getting replacement plastic is pretty cheap, and am thinking about doing a metallic blue paint job on mine. Any thoughts or suggestions for approach?
