While most Zero owners are using a belt drive, there are other brands and some Zero models that still use the dreaded chain, so this might be of interest. ;)
Here is an excellent 10-minute-long video discussion regarding chain design, construction, terminology, types, care and maintenance, produced by the motorcycle accessory company Bike Bandit. I found it very informative and worth watching:
