Title: Long Term Storage Mode
Post by: Scotchman on October 24, 2018, 06:25:03 PM
Anyone have any details on what this does?  And why it shouldn't/won't be a software update?

I think I recently read somewhere that the new operating system holds the battery charge at 60% for long term storage.  That seems like something that could also be accomplished by one of their firmware updates.   :o

Yeah I would like that, as I am planning to do the manual process they advise now over this winter (assuming I don't ride through the winter, which is a strong possibility depending on the precipitation we get and if the bike runs under 32F).

Anyone heard any rumors either way on whether this might be coming to older bikes as a software update?

Take a look at the owner's manual for the 2019 DS, on page 6.27:
http://media.zeromotorcycles.com/resources/owners-manuals/2019/2019-Zero-Owners-Manual-S-SR-DS-DSR.pdf

On page 6.27, it describes the mode. My dealer told me this also applies to 2017 and 2018s with the correct firmware update

Interesting that your dealer said that BUT I've gotten incorrect information from dealers in the past.  I'd really rather see something OFFICIAL from Zero; preferably on their own website before I believe it...
