Backwards running ZF-9
« on: November 28, 2013, 02:33:28 AM »

I have 6900 flawless miles on my 2012 ZF 9. Yesterday I had a really nice 65 mile run up to Cambria for a salmon sandwich but this morning when I hopped on it ran backwards! That hasn't happened since my trials days in the early 70s when my Bultaco 2 stroke would be out of time.... I did take it in for all the recalls in the past. Anyhow I still have about 5 months of warranty left and Harlan at Hollywood Electrics is very willing to make things work (which is great since my local dealer lost his lease). I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and what the final fix was.

I had the glitch  few times, mostly on warmer days with humidity or when there is some rain.

The backyard problem was mostly on hot sunny days often when the sun was shining directly to the side where the motor rear cover is exposed.

Yesterday i dissassembled the motor to send it to zero for the fix. I will also send the MBB dor update and BMS for waterproofing.

When i had the backyard problem after few second if try, the motor finally was running properly.
This was embarassing when my workmate saw me with this problem in the parking lot... I hate when electric transport dont work properly, this is a bad publicity for the elctric revolution...
