They're going to throw down with the gas bikes. I was able to see the sort of warmup or practice session this last weekend and the Energica Ribelle is just exceptionally fast with a rider of that skill level. I'm really stoked for this!

edit- apologies I had multiple tabs open and meant to post this in the Events subforum. Maybe mod move it?

Live progress: https://bluelane.io/fxQBNO

Scott's previous attempts were on his SR/F with Rapid Charger and dual J inlet rig. He has since upgraded to a brand new 2022 SR/S. Rumor has it Zero gave him the VIP treatment, including early unlocks of Cypher Store for the full 17.3kWh battery. He is hoping to break Steven Day's record of 93 hours on a stock Energica Ribelle. Hopefully Scott will arrive safe and sound in Oceanside, CA, sometime this week.

Energica / SS9 sighting in trailer of Jordan Peele's new horror film: NOPE
« on: February 13, 2022, 11:47:02 PM »
I was watching the new trailer for Jordan Peele's latest work and had a quick double take at around 1:23 in the trailer. I went back to take a closer look and, yep, that's definitely some sort of SS9. Timestamp for the trailer here: https://youtu.be/In8fuzj3gck?t=82

I'm also attaching a screencap. Pretty cool!

Not strictly a motorcycle but hey the official video is up!

Definitely Zero's powertrain and you can get it configured with either 1 or 2 monoliths worth of juice. Pretty cool!

https://www.evgo.com/tou-location-pricing/

Starting September 16 they will begin billing based on kWh instead of the previous time-based system. This is, of course, what CA legislated going forward. EA has already embraced this. Here's the major takeaway: EVgo's cool kid pricing is based on their $8/month subscription plan. However, if you are a AAA member, that includes EVgo's monthly subscription. That's a good deal. They don't really advertise it but here you go: https://aaanorcalpromo.evgo.com/

Use it.

Hey all. Just finished the writeup for the May 14th race that pitted 5 Energicas, 1 LiveWire, and 1 Zero against each other. Read all about it! https://www.electric.motorcycles/post/anaheim-to-reno-aftermath-my-predictions-may-have-been-slightly-incorrect

Thanks to all who helped organize the event and make it happen. It was also nice meeting the new people along the way.

Covers a lot of good points. I feel like he pulled a few punches on others. Regardless, it's good information.

Electric Motorcycle Events / Anaheim to Reno race on May 14th
« on: February 16, 2021, 02:38:10 PM »
The SoCal electric group has decided to do an electric Cannonball Run from Anaheim to Reno. Start time is 8am at a predetermined location and end time is whenever you finish on your bike at another predetermined location. Bring your pimped out Zero, Energica, or LiveWire and vie for the championship title! The route is all up to you. If on Facebook here's a link to sign up.

These are the sort of range tests I love to write about.

I think this is a pretty good representation of real-world riding. I wish they'd had an SR/S as well, though. Maybe in a future video.

I can't wait for parts 2 and beyond

edit- part 2 is up

A bunch of the guys in the SoCal electric riders Facebook group got bored and decided to race to Las Vegas for junk food and bragging rights. I have written up an article about it because I was thoroughly entertained by it.
