Well here we go!
First mod light LED bulb and flasher. Head light and Daytime running light mod.

Today I removed the Battery Charge off the bike about 18 lbs of weight. next we installed a new skid plate. This plate will still have anchor nuts to fit charge if require in the future.

MBB re-flash to replace the LSM software with standard XU operation

OOPS! So I install my re-flashed MBB and nothing!?!?! Why?? check the batteries fuses all good.... Called Zero they said I should take it to the Dealer and download fault log. Call the local dealer they tell they don't have the equipment to download this data.
Anyways turn out they flashed my board with 2012 XU sw for a 2011 bike.
Sending the board back to Zero :(

So to keep the option of installing the Charger when I need it. Here my solution; just a few fasteners to remove the fairing and four nut to remove the charger. Later this may be the location of my supplemental 20 ah batteries.

Just made two more final drive sprockets. Now I have 13t, 14t and 15t to 71t rear gearing: 5.39, 5.00, 4.67
Stock XU gearing 13T to 61 = 4.62
XU LSM 13t to 71t = 5.39
Anyways hope to give me a better option on speeds.

Well with the MBB still out here's what we accomplished... It should be back Monday. So now here how she looks with the bike finish but I think we still need some Carbon fiber panels to cover the ugly battery box area.
I added a plug for the charger to make it easy to remove when I want to.

Ok so the MBB is installed had couple of days messing with the bike trying some of the different sprockets. 13T top speed 40 mph, 14T top speed 44 mph and 15T top speed 48 mph. still indicating 40 mph on the speedo. Figured out how to adjust the speedo push and hold two buttons enters the cal adjust mode RPM / MPH / display dimming.
I still have few more thing I would like to do and this may involve the adjustment of the MBB or EMC/ESC not sure what is limiting me now. I see two thing wheel free spin no load is 40 mph indicated 13 amps. If back the speed sensor off the so the speed "0" indicated, I still get the same current at free wheel no load condition about 13 amps. Where does and who do control the speed, MBB or EMC/ESC and how do I adjust this to allow more RPM during motor operation.
Second under load condition how would I adjust the acceleration current short duration and cruse current maintain top speed. I see there is a induction coil current sensor on the main power cable. What does this do?
I really want to get better understanding of this system and if possible I sure would like to trim this bike out better through the canbus OBDII or RS serial to USB connection directly to the EMC/ESC.
I think Zero has to get off there high horse and start publishing spec wiring diagram for these bikes. I have been working on modern aircraft now for 26 year and dealing with digital data buses and wiring diagrams but if you working in the dark this not fun. I certain feel this way working on this simple system. Frustrating >:(

I was playing with the 3 different final drive sprockets i have now. With the highest gearing 15T \ 71T sprockets I'm getting 77 kmh and range of 20 km. I was wondering what an average range should be? The re-flash of the MBB never made much change, sprocket did.

Hey.. ;) The tack is reading the motor speed and convert it to the speed of the motorcycle.. there is a ratio that you can play with by programming the right number on the speedo of the motorcycle ;)
here is how to do that:
( credit to someone else on the forum but i dont remember who...)
ZERO 2010-2013 SPEEDO CALIBRATION PROCEDURE:
To recalibrate the speedo.
-Start up the bike and wait for the speedo to complete its self test.
-Hold down both the adjust and select buttons for 5 seconds until the display shows a 4 digit number followed by a 2 digit number.
-Scroll through the digits using the select button and change them using the adjust button.
As an example, to calibrate the speed if you are going from a 28 tooth pulley to a 25 tooth pulley, you will multiply the 4 digit number
by 25/28 and enter that as the new value.

Thanks found that by accident. Used my GPS to find the actual speed km then change it to match. Now it reads km instead of mph. Interesting that it came in mph not km imported to Canada. Wonder if they do the same in the UK? Well at least it indicate km now. I assume the odometer is adjust to km now too.

At least on the 2012 bikes, the mph/kph switch also changes the odometer display.

Okay, so I do the button thing on my 2013 S. I got more sets of numbers than I was expecting. The first photo has a number that doesn't divide by 4 to get the number of teeth on my sprocket. The second photo is a second page of info. that shows maybe a sprocket setting. Is there a manual that explains these displays?

LOL I found it be accident! not really sure what it did till I change them. I set my with my GPS to km trial and error. Work good for me.
