Buy Sell Trade / DS/DSR brand new handguards
« on: April 16, 2022, 05:13:27 AM »
These are OEM Cycra handguards for DS/DSR that should fit 2014-2022 models. Brand new, I don’t have original packaging anymore but they haven’t been installed. I ordered them for my SR, big mistake — they don’t fit S/SR models. My mistake, your gain.

$120 shipped within continental U.S.

Experience electric! Perfect commuter bike with lots of power when you need it.

I’m original owner, bike has been bought at SF Moto in 2015. Has about 21K miles on it, used for commuting around SF Bay Area to work and some trips here and there.

Runs great, needs nothing and has been carefully maintained at the dealer. No noticeable decrease of battery capacity from what I can tell.

Has been garaged since I bought it. Clean title. Registration paid until June 2021.

12 kW charges get to full in about 30-40 minutes if you use two ChargePoint stations.

Comes with:

* Crash bars (not installed)
* Heated grips
* 12V AUX connector
* Givi top case
* Givi side cases
* Zero windscreen (not installed)
* Brand-new extra belt (current belt has about 2K miles on it and I got about 18K miles out of original one)
* Metal belly pan if you want to relocate your chargers there
* Wide rear pulley that fits new wide belts

Note about plastic. It currently has silver plastic around the front with opening lid to hide 3x DigiNow (12 kW total with on-board) chargers. Chargers are $2500 extra if you want them. If you don’t want them, I can take them off and replace front and fender plastic with stock red that I kept, it’s up to you. I also have all kinds of adapters for chargers, NEMA 14-50, standard 110V adapter, 30 AMP and long extension cable to charge at 50A in RV parks.

Reason to sell: as much as it pains me to sell it, my life situation changed and I’m not commuting on anymore. It’s a great bike, I love it and I want someone else experience the joy of riding electric.

No trades, no low-ballers, test ride for serious buyers with M1.

My belt lasted exactly 18,000 miles and started skipping because it has lost enough teeth. However my riding style is opening throttle wide every time opportunity arises and I made a few small jumps over the hills which I'm sure contributed to this. All in all, 18K is what I expected to get from belt anyway.

My '16 SR is back to having rock solid SoC and range estimates after firmware downgrade/revert. Electric Cowboy has more info about this process.

Thanks Anton.  DO you have any photos you can share of how you were able to squeeze the three chargers in?
Here you go :)

But no one has addressed my original question of whether it's possible to revert back to an older firmware version if we have the firmware updated and don't like the way the bike is behaving.
It can be done. After about 8 months of varying issues with SoC being weird on my '16 SR, firmware has been downgraded/reverted and my Zero range estimated and SoC reading is back to being as reliable as always. I'm super excited. Thanks Electric Cowboy!

Still not sure of the answer to my question.  Is there room to install 2x superchargers in the tank area without having to order the chargetank plastic?  I was under the impression that only 1 supercharger would fit under the stock tank.
You don't have to order ChargeTank plastic if you're OK with DIY solution. I went ahead with PowerTank plastic since back then that was the only option; now I believe stock locking plastic makes it a breeze. I managed fit 3x units under stock tank.

Pulling BMS logs (especially if you have firmware bug that results in ~1 hr download time) can definitely saturate the bus. Generally producing a lot of output over OBD port (logging for example) will result in messed up throttle response. I've experimented a lot with what works and what doesn't and MBB seems to have a concept of signal priority -- eventually it will respond to your inputs and when it does, everything seems to work fine. However if you let it "idle" (no inputs being sent to MBB), there's going to be a delay between your input and how bike reacts, sometimes as big as 1-2 seconds. Do take a note though, during normal usage this isn't something you have to worry about. Bluetooth communication isn't affected by this at all though, that doesn't seem to lock up MBB.

Neuer_User, I have unopened box of exactly these protectors. DM if you're interested?

My only fear in buying a set up for Tesla stations is if Elon Musk gets his panties in a wad over a bunch of scruffy Zero riders making his high brow customers uncomfortable hanging around "their" chargers, he clicks a few keys and poof, no more access for those scruffy Zero riders. Then what?
Destination chargers are owned by businesses, not Tesla. Also, there's no way for Tesla to remotely turn off destination chargers as that feature doesn't exist on them.

Also there's this:

Quote
WARNING: Only use Zero approved accessory chargers.
Damage, malfunctions, or performance problems caused
by the installation or use of any charger not sold or
approved by Zero will void the warranty of your Zero
Motorcycle.

That quote isn't new to 2018, though.

I have exactly the same problem with v51. Will attempt upgrading to new FW (if it's actually available) next Tuesday.

CANBUS is neither advantage nor disadvantage. If the underlying software chokes on amount of data it receives through CANBUS and cannot prioritize events such as kill switch then it's a problem with how that software is written, not CAN itself.

Then come all the limitations  of CANBUS to the buyer.

And what are these limitations exactly?

With regards to option 2 — I can tell you that I used to reliably reach thermal saturation points with 3 units in the tank area. Weather wasn't extremely hot (usually 65-70F), MY16 SR, charging from low states (~20%). I would hit thermal cutbacks on chargers around 80%, so about 30-40 min in. If I would start from lower SoC, I would hit it sooner, but I'd have to be around 40% SoC in order to get full charge before cutbacks. Additional factor that you won't have in your setup is exposed area of pan as opposed to enclosed space in tank area where convection is just not that good. I've fixed the issue completely since then though by adding exhaust fan into tank area.

Option 1 is very interesting though and might just work.
