General Discussion / Electric Scooters!
« on: July 15, 2009, 12:37:21 AM »
Just got back from a business trip to China where the bicycle has been upstaged by electric scooters, millions of them! They cost from $200 to $300 dollars and use hub motors. They seem to be limited to 20km/h although we did clock one at twice that speed! It wasn't unusual to see 3 people on them, surprisingly they were being used in rural areas as well as the cities.

Quantya Forum / Quantya controller programming

I understand the bike uses an EV Drive AXE controller, has anyone tried tuning one? I am a gentle rider and would be interested in knowing the impact on endurance of softening the throttle response. I am looking to use the bike for trail riding locally and commuting to work (about 10km fairly flat) so endurance is more important than the ability to wheelie!!

Electric Motorcycle Events / TTXGP entries
« on: March 10, 2009, 01:03:38 AM »
As of mid Feb the entry list stood at 18 for what is going to be a high profile event with plenty of media coverage! I am looking forward to seeing how they get on, you can pick up a commentary on Manx Radio, although this usually free service involves a nominal subscription for the duration of the TT it is well worth it because you get a live scoreboard with lap times as they happen.
