They give you full coverage?!? I tried to register mine with them almost two months ago and they kept trying to ask if it was a bicycle, or said that because of it's lower power output, it couldn't be covered, on and on. Two supervisors later, they gave me liability only. If they're doing full coverage now, I'll need to call back and get it fixed!

On the way home, I stopped off at A&S Motorcycles in in Roseville, CA I am now the legal owner of the 2023 Energica Experica, all insured and all.

The total out-the-door price here in CA with sales tax, DMV fees, etc, was $29,291.90. That includes all CA DMV fees and taxes, my deposit, etc. Everything except for the insurance.

Very nice looking bike. They will deliver it to me sometime next week, perhaps on Tuesday.

My VIN number ends on 000018. The 18TH Experia made by Energica. First one insured by Progressive. Wasn't on their list. Is now, thanks to me.

It will take me a while to learn this thing.  Screens are quite a bit different.

Hey, sorry about that, as often, I make big promises and fail to deliver. hah. I wasn't ready for the videographers to be asking questions and having me talk about sponsors at each stop. Ended up being more of a time drain than I thought it would be. Weather and crash drama, bleh.

I did get the wrap up video posted a few days ago however, and even put some time into learning a new editing platform. Hopefully it's decent.

Nope, I made it across Texas without charging issues. There's a 120 or so mile jump East of Texas. Tucking and slowing down, that's possible on my old 2020 Ribelle.

7
Yup. CCS is every 50-100 miles along the highway. No need to pull over and try to find two open J plugs on different circuits. I saw one stop he had to move to 3 different locations to find chargers open. Perks of CCS also, often/usually 4-8 at each stop. Only been to a handful where there was just one.

Record he was up against was a stock original Ribelle. Flat tire in Texas that wouldn’t stay plugged. Caught in a heavy thunder and rain storm. New tires. Spent the night in a hotel drying off. Still made it in 93 hours. Stuff happens, the randomness is damn near 50% of the chances one will break the record.

Yup yup, been watching eagerly. I need my record broken so I can do it again with the old girl - minus a flat tire this time, and go for 80 hours. I think the new 70% SOC tapering feature may have seriously gimped him this run though. :(

Energica of New England is about to launch these soon if you want to hold on for pre-made.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Energica EsseEsse9 vs Zero SR/F

Low speed, Energica makes more noise. I like it, it's like a jet taking off. At speed, over 25 or 30 probably, it dies down, much over that and all you hear is wind. I like it, sounds high tech and gets looks.

I went from a 2020 SR/S Premium with charge tank, to 2021 Energica Ribelle, and I can't be happier. Amazing range, charge time, reliability. There's a reason everyone goes Zero -> Energica, and never the other way.

It seems like the deeper discharges and chargers heat the batter faster. One 2%-98% charge and it started charging at only 8 or 10kW right off the bat. It can do a few 20-80% charges and still be doing 12-15kW it seems like however.

Horrible cross country Ribelle video with lots of charge stops. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd6P7zdCLnaNSbVaKqi8dMMEgSTv0nMwX

Energica / Re: Stripped passenger peg bolt
« on: July 22, 2021, 04:31:43 PM »
Yeah, worst location ever for this to happen. I tried the hammer trick, hoping a better bit tomorrow when it arrives may do it, when lightly hammered in.

The bolts go up under the bike, and they’re protected from accessing well by the bike plastics. Can’t grip them with anything or try to wedge anything on the side of it to tap to get it moving.

Guess I’ll give the new tools a try and if they don’t do it, bring it in to a shop. Was hoping there was some crazy solution, glue a wrench in there or something, I don’t know. Hah.

No, no welders around me that I know. Other bolts all came out no problem this one though. Ug.

Energica / Stripped passenger peg bolt
« on: July 22, 2021, 06:48:20 AM »
So, I had a cheap hex wrench and it kept slipping, and I stripped one of my passenger peg bolts. I have better stuff coming tomorrow, and a proper breaker bar. Any advice on any sprays or anything I can do to help the new tools bite in better?

Energica / Re: If you have Key Less Start Avoid this Firmware
« on: May 24, 2021, 08:51:07 PM »
I’ll have to check my firmware, but I have pin to ride, and my fob randomly drops out of range while riding. Also, 120v charging is limited to 660 watts or so.

Still, 1000x better than my last bike. :p
