Hey all.
I'm came out to ride my zero back home from  work but am getting a very strange and rather scary set of warning lights.

As said in title, after keying on, the warning light blinks twice, pause, blink again, then the headlight turns off and then back on, the charge light blinks, and then it starts again.

Anyone ever seen this? I'd like to make it the 22 miles home, but am worried about a breakdown.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Battery no longer charging to 100%
« on: September 26, 2017, 03:54:31 AM »
Hi all,
I've searched the forums but I haven't found a case that seems to mirror mine so:
I have a 2014 SR with 19K miles on it. I ride 45 miles a day on average.  I usually charge at work and the standard charge is from 56% at arrival, to 100% at COB  eight hours later.
For the last two months my bike has decreased it's final SOC for an unknown reason. It was 98% at first but now the final SOC is regularly 91%. There are no other known issues with the bike.
I recently took it to the dealer, but they had no clue why it wouldn't charge to full. The Zero regional sales manager was there as well, but he was stumped.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
I have reset the BMS a few times to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys.
Been having and issue the last view days that has me perplexed.
In both Custom and Sport modes, the power delivery when twisting the throttle seems to cut in and out rapidly.
It causes a bucking feeling like your car when you have water in your gas or carburator issues. I've observed that, even when at a constant speed, say 50mph, the level indicators for both power and torque add and then subtract s bar every second or so, even with my hand maintaining the same throttle position.
This bucking issue does not seem to happen in Eco mode.

I'm hoping it's not a throttle issue. Could it be the BMS or Controller?
I'll try and download the logs asap (at work now).

Thanks!

So while riding in to work today I noticed that my right turn signal is flashing faster than my Left. I don't remember this being the case before. Is this pointing to a problem with the fuse or a bulb? Thanks!

I know many of you are electrical systems whizzes, but I have very limited experience with working on something as complex as my '14 SR. I have recently encountered BMS issues due to condensation(?) and other issues where connectors have been wet. I have even smelled what I believed to be burning electronics while riding.

Has anyone done a visual guide on sealing and common/important places for coating with dielectric grease? As a lay person I would love to be able to go through and cover the areas that need to be protected from any rogue water droplets, before they ruin my commute.  :'(

Sooooo, someone backed into my bike while it was parked in a lot. The only damage to the bike that I can see is a broken tip on the break lever and possible damage to the boot on the master cylinder.

I would like to replace both if possible, but I don't want to spend a ton buying from zero. Anyone know of an after market break lever/ master cylinder that will fit a 2014 SR?

Thanks for the help

I know it's hard to get too excited about "breakthroughs" these days, but this looks very promising.

Hey all,

I've put about 500 miles on my '14 SR since purchase - mostly on cold weather (30F-40F). I have noticed that the motor makes a growling noise at lower speeds. The growl also presents with a vibration (mild) that I can feel on the bike and (I may be imagining it) a momentary decline in torque, before the growl goes away. The temperature on the display in usually anywhere between 60F and 150F when it happens. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?
Thanks for the help.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Can't get key to 'lock' position
« on: October 24, 2014, 07:35:12 PM »
So I just received my '14 SR a couple days ago. Yesterday I tried to use the fork lock but I can't remove the key. I move the bars all the way to the left, depress and turn the key counter-clockwise; the fork locks, but the key won't go all the way to the 'lock' icon, and I cannot remove my key. Is this a common issue, or do you think it is an issue with the lock cylinder. The bike is a demo model with 1790 miles on it.
Thanks for the help!

So, I am in the process of deciding whether or not I should purchase a 2014 SR or waiting for December to get a 2015 S/SR. I know the upgrades for the 2015 are well worth the bump in price, but I haven't had any experience with the 2014 SR that would help me decide. Is now a good time to use the new model release leverage with my dealer to try and get a better deal on the '14? Is it possible to get below MSRP, or are electric bikes a product that are difficult to use leverage while purchasing. If you have an SR ('14), do you think that it is worth purchasing (hopefully a good deal) as opposed to waiting till December? Thanks for the advice!
