The Ducatis have traction control. The Energicas did not. The races are approximately 20 miles -- six to eight laps. They have two races on Saturday, qualifying on Friday. There's no siting or tire warmup laps - they pull off the tire warmers and race. It's very close racing because they are using the same bike. I like it because it's a riders class.

I went to the MotoAmerica race at The Ridge (Shelton Washington, USA) last summer and watched the lone Energica in the Hooligan class beat most of the ICE bikes. What a kick!

Home Brew / Re: Street legal KZ440 cafe racer build

In the winter of 1986 I  built a TZ500KX - a TZ250 road racer chassis with a Kawasaki KX500 two stroke 500cc motocross motor. It raced in the Pacific Northwest road racing series in the open single class. I raced it and won several regional championships in British Columbia, Washington State and Oregon. I wish I had the design tools we see here. It would have been even better than it turned. I am so impressed with your project and how thorough you are! I am glued to your channel.

Thank you for sharing.

I was on the different bike every three years roundabout for many years until I realized I was wasting money and not getting a better bike. Now I replace bikes for specific reasons. I bought a 2015 BMW F800GT to tour with. We have a 2019 Zero SR and a 2021 Zero S for commuting. Our 2001 Moto Guzzi V11-Sport and 1987 Cagiva Alazzurra 650 are our weird Italian bikes. The Yamaha RZ-350 was my wife's daily rider for decades. Luckily, I have enough garage space to not worry about too many bikes. I mean, how many are too many?

His road rash and broken hand was a pretty good reminder.

Marc seems to get outstanding range. He drafts trucks and rides pretty slow most of the time. I think one of his chargers failed a few episodes ago. Other than one broken belt, he's been trouble free.

My vastly experienced friend decided to not listen to my instructions, put my 2019 Black Zero SR into Sport mode and pin the throttle in wet conditions, launching himself to the moon. I have some free, scraped bodywork to anyone who wants to pay for the shipping. The 'tank' and right front body panel are candidates for repair or wrapping.

My electricity bills for 2023 added up to $1172.74. I put 2205 KWH back onto the grid @$.10 per KWH - $220.50.  I'm safe from a 1099. It is food for thought for people with higher rates and more sun.

No batteries with my installed solar. The return on investment with the solar panels is way down the road; with batteries doubling the install cost it makes even less financial sense. We rarely lose power and I too have a generator to keep the freezers running (via extension cords rather than through the house wiring). You have to be real careful about not feeding power back into the grid when the line workers are repairing downed lines during an outage. I didn't have the grid cutoff installed when they put in our solar panels.

I like the idea of batteries - particularly free ones. I can relate to free: I have nearly infinite free wood for our wood stove to heat the house.

Our PUD pays the same rate to us for uploaded power as we pay for grid power. I wish we had a bit more sun in Seattle! This time of the year we only get about 10% of our power from solar.

I bought a used 2021 S and was able to transfer the warranty by contacting Zero.

There are quite a few Rivians near me. I've also seen a couple of Lucids. The reality is most pickups around here are just used to take the kids to school and squash a few motorcyclists.

I had a nastygram note on my Zero while it charged and I stepped in for an espresso. The woman was furious I took an electric CAR spot for a motorcycle. She apologized profusely when I showed her it was electric.

Perhaps it makes more financial sense to ship to an East Coast port (Scab probably) and truck to the West coast. It's a long trip through the Panama canal to the West coast ports.
