Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Front brake lever
« on: June 14, 2017, 05:27:11 PM »
I personally would use a 3rd party lever only, if it is made for the specific brake-pump or the specific bike, if the pump is original. But not having a brake-lever on stock, is a very bad customer-support from Zero-EU. The lever for my Yamaha was at the dealer within 1 day, when i dropped it because of not fully "opened" kickstand. OK that was the clutch-lever, but I think, it will be no difference for the big japanese companies.
Zero will get into severe sales-troubles, if they dont fix things like that.

By the way: Polo knows ZERO in the database, if you are seeking parts, Louis does not.

Possible, but the lever should fit to the brake-pump, everything else would be dangerous. From your nickname i guess, you are from a german-speaking country. So if you do not want to change the front brake-pump, it might be a problem, to get something which fits and is legal ( E-Nr. )

You must live in a very crappy place.
Pretty much everyone around here would stop... The other day I had an issue with my XB12R and ended up pulled over in a painted median. No less than 5 riders stopped in 20 mins, and the only two wheeler that didnt stop or loop back to check on me was a scooter.
And this is on a bike that no one would recognize when riding by.
Is the surrounding of Vienna/Austria crappy? Maybe at that point of view. Or is it an European phenomen? Is it better in the US or even in other countries?
Could be an interresting discussion here. Perhaps it is better in areas, where help is not just "around the corner" or a phonecall away.

From my personal point of view, the normal riders dissapeared, when the motorcycle-industry found out, that yuppies and WASPs are customers, who buy bikes.
In "the old days" it was totally normal, that if you see a motorcyclist on the pavement, you stopped and asked if he needs help. Today ( suffered myself, because a screw of the gear lever broke and I stuck in the first gear, 20 miles from home ) I waited 45min. for roadside assistance, at least 20 riders passed by and only 1!! was asking if I need help. And if I stop and ask, I often earn incredulous faces.

Seems to be very brutal covered, and if there is a clutch or just a lever, ... KTM wanted to hide something, and that was done very good.

In Winter-with-snow-countries often the rules are as following: "Winter-riders" dont wave, they know the others in Winter. And the guys who ride only in summer, when there is guaranteed NO rain, and temp. above 25°C are mainly posers. So why greet them? Often Winter-riders dont ride on too beautiful weekends, -- too many idiots on the road.

You are right, but the first name, which came to my mind, when I saw that "bike", was "An Unknown Luigi Colani".

Why not just say "smoking"?
My DS-R is also smoking, but only "electrosmog(ke)". Could be mixed up.

ICE = Internal Combustion Engine :) Took me a little while to figure out as well.
I wanna see an ECE (External Combustion Engine ) in ääh at a vehicle. And I do NOT talk about electric railways with combustion engine-driven generators. *lool*
Thanks for fast response, Jorg.

@ DougS
I am not a native-speaker in English, and your acronyms drive me grazy sometimes. WTF means ICE?? In Germany it means a train, which is very speedy.
I#ve tried to google it, but after 4 pages, it gets boring, when nothing seems to fit exactly.
Seems to be a combustion engine, but what is the I?

Nanoflow? You'd have a better chance of running a bike on pure snakeoil...

Is there really a market for used e-motorcycles in Switzerland? I have seen that some guys tried to sell a Zero in .at but nobody was interrested.

I removed my mirrors and bought a Reevu helmet.  I don't miss them one bit.
Is that legal, where you live? Here in Germany and Austria you have to have 2!! mirrors on your bike. Every cop will pick you out.

The laws about "lane splitting" can be different for each state, in the United States country. The state of California passed AB-51 bill, and now it is legal to do lane splitting.

In the state of Colorado, I think it is not legal to be lane splitting, but you can ride next to another motorcycle in the same lane of traffic.
OK thanks, that make some ultrawide handlebars understandable. We are used to do lane Splitting, I save up to 1 hour a day in the city, if I have several dates. So nearly nobody will have End-mirrors on a bike fpr the city.
