Thanks Crissa and Richard for your input. It sounds like I may be worrying about something that is not a problem.

Thanks again.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Battery Health
« on: March 08, 2021, 10:01:25 AM »
Hello everyone,

Is there a way to check battery health with the app? My 2015 DS 9.4 doesn't seem to be getting the range it use to. It has a little over 8800 miles. On the instrument panel I use the range and trip 2. I am wondering if the instrument panel is goofy. Today I left with 100% and rode 7.6 miles which used 12% according to the instrument panel. Around town I would normally use about 1% per mile and the range would be 100 miles or so and now it is close to 80. The trip odometer on the app said I rode 14 miles, which I did not. The really odd thing is it charged back up in about 20 minutes which normally would take closer to an hour. The app also says it needs a firmware update. It has been sitting in the garage where it has been getting as low as 40 degrees but it was low 60's when I left today. It has been like this the last few times I rode it.
I am hoping to sell it but don't want to with a bad battery.

Thanks!

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / 2018 DSR

Yesterday I became the proud owner of a 2018 DSR. It came with a charge tank and a parking brake, which I had never seen, but works very well. It only had 653 miles when I got it.
It is a game changer from my 2015 DS 9.4. I now feel like I can take much longer rides. Looking forward to that.
All that torque made for a fun ride home.

How do you know it is a token effort? I realize that riding an electric motorcycle is not going to save Earth. It is just one of many things I do to try to lessen my impact on the planet. All combined I hope I am making a difference. As a bonus, riding my Zero is the most fun I have ever had on a motorcycle.

I bought my 2015 DS new from Elk Grove Power Sports, Elk Grove, Ca. The salesman Jim was very easy to work with. I have taken it back to the shop  for a recall on the DC-DC converter and general servicing. They completed all work in a timely manner without hassle. I plan on getting a new Zero in the next year or so and will definitely go back.

I like the size of the Zeros. I am a fairly big guy 6'3" and after riding bigger bikes, (last one was a Triumph Tiger 1050) I find the lighter quicker handing 2015 Zero DS that I ride more fun than the bigger bikes. Of course I mostly use it around town.  I would be happy with basically the same bike with more range, faster charging and a better seat. I am looking at getting a DSR when the 2020 models come out. I would like to set it up with side boxes and a good windshield for longer trips and get a Corbin seat and hit the road.

Someone named Garrett replied to my email to 2x2 within a few minutes and said he has bike racks for Zero's. I don't know anyone who has one though.

I just emailed 2X2 cycles and was told they do make a bicycle rack for Zeros. He said you need a zero luggage rack on your bike and that's it. He said he sent out 4 or 5 in the last month. I had never heard of them before. I am going to check it out. Thanks for the info!

I got a hold of Mark and I will be taking my DS in for a test fit so you don't have to make a trip from Livermore if you don't want to. I will post any info I get from him when I am done.

I have a 2015 DS. I will plan on going there next Wednesday around 10:30. I am retired so I have plenty of time and would like to help out on this.

I live in Sacramento just over the river from West Sacramento. I would be happy to bring my Zero there next Wednesday. Do you know what time?

I will contact Mark tomorrow and let him know.

I noticed that digiNow chargers are not on the Hollywood Electrics webpage. Does anyone know if they will be available again?
