Can it still be called a "Start Up" if they've been in business for over a DECADE??

I was surprised to hear that Zero has received $250 million in funding over the years, mostly from the same source.  Now that is dedication.  Much more so than the funding source that Alta Motors had.

It must be a labor of love.  I can't see that VC ever making their money back.

Long-running startups are pretty common out here.

My spouse's company is nearly twenty years old and is still a startup - tho they've had a profitable product for over ten years of it.

I'll bet that major OEMs have put more money than that into electric motorcycles that they haven't shipped. And definitely other electric car startups have taken a documented huge amount more than Zero without delivering, and then imploded.

Zero, despite the limitations that entails, runs very lean for a vehicle startup. I think the admission here that they need to scale up production now and it's very difficult, is honest. It's a nice problem to have, but it's a serious problem - Zero can't sit where they are for long without either growing further or probably facing some consequences from investors or the market.

Here's a new interview of Sam Paschel from EICMA 2019

SR/F platform will obviously be the new base platform for all future Zero's. And looks like they're also aiming at a new production facility to meet demands for the SR/F.
