Title: Helmet Lock Extension for Zero with PowerTank
Post by: oobflyer on June 21, 2015, 08:12:48 PM
I stole this idea from another blog (http://www.fjrforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102492 (http://www.fjrforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102492)) to use with a Zero with the PowerTank.

I used a 3/32" vinyl-covered steel cable (18" long), plus the crimps to make the loops. I spent a total of about $2 (at ACE Hardware).

I tried using the "helmet lock" on my 2014 SR once, couldn't get the strap to reach, and gave up on it. Now this:

rides on my handlebar when I'm on the bike, and holds my helmet attached to the rack when I'm not riding. I couldn't be happier with it.

I got the springy rope as well:

You can thread it through the sleeves of your jacket, through the helmet and lock.
