Don't try this with the battery in your Zero  ;) It will void the warranty! :o

I think that good battery has a magnet in its bottom.   ;D

I guess I'm going to have to try this (with AA batteries not Zero's). I've got a box full of old household batteries that I've been too lazy to take to the electronic waste disposal place.
