What model and year is your bike? I wonder if Zero change their design but didn't change the part number.

Fyi, the parts list is wrong.  Mine don't have a separate dust seal under the metal abs ring, too.

2
I ordered a new front ABS magnet ring and dust seal according to part catalogue.
No. 2 and 3 as showed in the explode diagram.
(2 25-08080 ABS MAGNET RING, 3 23-07774 6204 BEARING DUST SEAL)

But the magnet ring is quite different compare to the one on my bike.

As the second photo, the original magnet ring is just a black plastic ring and the dust seal seat perfectly in the ring.
The new magnet ring I got has a metal inner ring, and the dust seal can't fit in (third photo).

Are there different version of this magnet ring? or the part catalogue is wrong?

Thanks in advanced! :D

Buy Sell Trade / Re: [Want to buy]2015 S MBB
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:19:02 PM »
Nope, AF1 wouldn't sell MBB to me according to Zero policy

https://www.af1racing.com/ASSY-MBB-11KW-16MY-IMPL-ZM40-08074  seems to have one for 2016 ZERO S, you can get in touch with them to see if they can get you a 2015, or if the 2016 is compatible with 2015.

I want to buy a MBB for 2015 Zero S.
Because Zero wouldn't sell me one unless I ship my bike across the pacific...

Please PM me if you have one for sell :)

My biggest concern is the weight from extra battery and charging capability which I can't use.
I have to carry all these extra weight with the bike all the time.

Energica / Re: Taiwan orders a boat-load of Energicas

The importer held a press conference today.
They import all 3 models with bigger 21.5kWh battery.

The price is astonishing...

Esse NTD 1.268M -> USD 45.2K
Eva Ribelle NTD 1.468M -> USD 52.4K
EGO NTD 1.98M -> USD 70.7K

Damn, these bikes are so expensive :'(

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Failure of on board charger
« on: June 22, 2020, 01:51:09 PM »
The onboard charger is a common failure for all the S/DS Zero. Even the new 1300w version died after a few thousand kilometres on my bike. And the price is too expensive for a 1kw power charger... In my opinion, the 6kw charge tank is a better solution. Easy install and much more durable.

My bike had the same brake fluid spot on the tank from factory when it's new. Just use car wax and some hard working, you can polish those spot out.

I don't know how bad is your tank, but it is worth try.

Zero in their communications has seemed pretty clear that these chargers aren't meant to work in parallel, unlike the earlier Charge Tank which made them run in parallel by design.

Just a few points to clarify to avoid confusion:
- The charge tank doesn't request a voltage. It can indicate what current it intends to draw, presumably having read the pilot signal from the J1772 or Type 2 station which indicates current.
- You could make or possibly buy a custom cable that split an extra outlet from a J1772 plug (Type 2 seems more sensible with more capacity), but the Charge Tank would be modulating only its own current draw to the pilot signal, and so 1.3kW + 6kW at least could in principle trip a 6.6kW station. Those stations often allow 7kW but higher demand might trigger a slow-trip setting.
- Some ChargePoint stations have had L2 and L1 inlets, but ChargePoint seems to be doing away with that, so I don't think this will be very common.
- J1772 adapters to the onboard charger inlet or similar plugs are available and Zero's pricing on this is now fair, so that's one route but still requires two plugs (if not two stations).
- The J pilot signal and switching power supply chargers like the Charge Tank are controlled by current supply and demand (A), not power (kW), which often explains varying power delivery from a plug. Especially if system voltage droops below 220V because of widespread load issues or bad equipment (like Blink Networks' chargers). Current-based control aims to ensure that the conductors in the cabling are not overheating.

So, seems like i will need to use 2 plugs as of now. A 1.3kW charger on a 6.6kW station is not an efficient usage of the station, so i'm just looking to optimize that.
Is the elcon HK-J 3.3kW charger a good option on the aux port with a Y cable to the onboard charger? Will i be able to get one of these preprogrammed for a Zero, without needing a separate CAN bus controller? If there's a reference video of an install that would be greatly helpful :)

-Shayan
You can buy a HKJ3.3 kW that set to fit Zero battery by factory and with simple enable control. Therefore you don't need charger CAN controller. It's OK to use this setting since 3.3 + 1.2kW is unlikely to over wattage a L2 charging station.

I have use self tapping screw (don't know if this is the correct name in English) to re-install the center black plastic part.
It can be used on both new or reused center plastic pretty well.
All you need are stainless screws, stainless washer and plastic washer.

The attached photos are using new center plastic, so the plastic rivet heads are longer and need more plastic washer.
If you are using reused center plastic, you only need one plastic washer for each head.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Upgrade Zero S 2014 to SR
« on: September 18, 2019, 10:09:05 PM »
I have modified my all the Zero  S i had for SR version controller but did not replaced the motor fo rthe high temp magnet.

everything woerk fine.. just like Richard said. As well it is easyer to reach temp alarm as the motor get more power but this is acceptable for all that fun you get..

in fact 55% more torque feel like 3 time more !!    Biff  also described that theory once in teh past on that forum... the feeling of torque is way not linear on human body... and a small % increase feel like  alot !

Doc

Sorry for bring up an old post.
If I get a SR controller for my 2015 S, is this a direct install? Or I have to do some coding magic?

Zero dealer in my country is no longer in business, it's almost impossible to get a SR here.
So I am really curious if this is a simple upgrade.

Prior references for this type of modification: https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Advanced_Modifications#Left_Hand_Rear_Brake
Thanks Brian, I already read this page multiple times.
I just can't find a part that has been confirmed fit my 2015 S rear master cylinder.

I ordered the HHD parts anyway, will reply if it fit or not!

I would like to install a left hand rear brake master cylinder.
But also retain the function of the foot master cylinder.

I find this product through google.
http://www.hoheydesigns.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=40&products_id=201

Has anyone tried this product before?
Don't know if this will fit my 2015 ZeroS.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Firmware version for 2015 S
« on: April 07, 2019, 11:15:59 PM »
According to Zero web page, the newest firmware version is 54/46 for MBB and BMS.
But when the dealer updated my 2015 S last Thursday, the Zero software only update to version 53/43?

Had any 2015 S owner updated to version 54/46 already?

I checked the online Zero Log Parser. The only 2015 bike have version 54 is a SR.
But lots of 2014 S already had version 54 firmware.

What happened to the 2015 S?

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Severe battery degradation?
« on: April 05, 2019, 09:02:27 PM »
I update my firmware to MBB53 and BMS 43.
The zero software wouldn't let my bike update to MBB54 and BMS46 as their firmware web page shows.
The dealer is asking zero technician.

But after the update, the capacity AMPhrs shows 100 instead of 108.
And capacity kWhour shows 11.6 instead of 12.5.

I will try to discharge the battery to lower than 10%, and see if the reading back to normal...
