Adding a saddle bag
« on: April 05, 2014, 08:18:33 AM »

Hello All,

New owner and forum registrant here.

I'd like to add a tail bag such as the Kriega US 20, but i'm curious as to how to do it.  It's suppose to go under the pillion seat, but how does one get under there?  Do I just yank up on the seat?

Thanks in advance!

There should be two screws toward the back on either side keeping it in place if I recall. I can't confirm as my bike is still being shipped here lol

I have seen several people put knobs there though so that is my best guess.

The seat has two very long screws near the rear that run through the frame rails and screw into metal "ears" that are bolted to the bottom of the seat.  You need a 5 mm hex L-wrench or bit to loosen the screws.  The seat can then be lifted off of the chassis.  I mounted an RKA seat bag on my bike.  It uses a fabric "plate" that is attached with Velco strips to the underside of the seat and then the bag is fastened to metal rings at each edge of the "plate" with Velco strips, making the bag easily removable while the plate stays attached to the seat. See attached photo.
