I wish Zero wouldn't waste a single person-second on this crap, and instead, work on real issues like better on-board charging and a fairing option for their bikes.
Contrary to what self-important PR people think, logos have made a difference only in really rare cases where a logo is culturally offensive.

I don't think re-branding is their issue :/

Zero's logo doesn't get me too excited. I bet they paid a design consultant a bundle of money to create that logo, along with paying an attorney to copyright it. I hope they are putting as much effort into designing their 2019 models.  ::)

Maybe black out the border so the silver Z stands out more.
Looks like a Ghost Busters "no" symbol.

I assume that this is part of a process that will include marketing and advertising revamps (following on with last year's attempt at a real commercial video ad) and some kind of 2019 model revamp.

I think that the idea is to mix the "Z" from Zero with the numeral "0" (which, in computer world, is slashed). But it also resembles the "no" sign, which could be interpreted as "no emission" or such. But this is very speculative...

Looks like it would make a decent belt buckle. With a small amount of tweaking to the "buckle" logo, I'll bet I can get it to pop off bottle-caps...

It's a really bad sign when a company spends resources on stuff like a logo.
Reminds me of when I used to work for DEC (at the time a 125K employee computer company).
A bunch of people in the branding group decided, perish the thought, that some unofficial internal emails were being sent out without using the precise shade of red the logo was supposed to be in, or -- horrors -- even in blue, which the logo used to be in. Note, we're talking internal emails in engineering, not PR stuff sent to the media, or catalogs/manuals which go out from the Service or Sales organizations.
So these people sent out a 5-page email to every  single employee of the company, bemoaning this, and providing the proper image files to use.
DEC had to close down not long afterwards...
