Title: Weight of battery pack on 2014 FX
Post by: ReverseTrike on May 30, 2014, 03:50:34 AM
Based on the owner's manual from here: http://media.zeromotorcycles.com/resources/owners-manuals/2014/2014-Zero-Owners-Manual-FX.pdf (http://media.zeromotorcycles.com/resources/owners-manuals/2014/2014-Zero-Owners-Manual-FX.pdf) on page 4.7, the powerpack weighs 53 lbs (24 KG).

Based on the website, the 2014 FX powerpack is 280lbs-238 lbs= 42 lbs.

Based on the powertrain only from Zero's website, the powerpack is also 42 lbs (for 2013 model). Can someone confirm if the 2014 single powerpack on FX is indeed 11lbs heavier?

Thanks

The "power tank" installed on my 2014 S appears to be the same module as used on the FX and it weighs 42 pounds.

I've seen both of those weights listed for the 2013 FX batteries. Don't know which weight is the true one. But, as far as I know the 2014 and 2013 battery modules are identical.

Well, you would think so, but they must have found something to change.

If you look in the Zero Motorcycles power accessories page there are different PNs for 13 and 14 ZF2.8 Power Packs:

40-04150   2013 [Zero FX, XU]
40-05900   2014 [Zero FX]

I am not sure what the exact differences are but they are different in some way.

I guess there are some differences for the 2014 "Power Tank" even the "Power Pack Module Charging Adapter" is different maybe the missing pin at my 2013 Pack is insert?

But I do believe the weight is not much different.
