as i said, im a software developer myself. even zero finds out new usefull stuff or old bugs that make problems in certain cercumstances, or updating chargingprotocols to support more tyo2 stations or whatever.

We sometimes fix bugs that are way older than 5 years, and the software normally only gets better, not worse..

My Friend also owns the Sevcon manual, but thanks for linking it. Also he has original Sevcon software with dongle. As i understand, he works with this stuff, so he knows what he is doing. On his Bike, he installed a clutch-lever with what he can control his regen smooth/stepless..

We also did not poke arround with any power-setting. We only increased regen-power and lowered the min-rpm for regen. When you regen stronger, you can also use it with a little lower speeds.
The standard-regen with the s/sr/dsr-bikes is a joke.. the srf shows, that the battery can easily take more, its more a software-thing to limit max-regen i suppose. Zero for sure does not want too high of a charging current with max speeds. But because i dont drive max-speeds, i wont overload it with to much charching-power (i calculated it with the speed i wont go over. we lose our drivinglicense fast..)

So i get your - be careful - messages. You played with the output-power side of things.. we wont touch that :-)

as a software engeneer, i want to get a firmwareupdate after 2 years without one, so worst case i have to go to my friend again. i have a backup-cfg, but i also dont want to override the zero-updates, so best is, to set these 3 parameters manually again..

A Friend of mine increased the regen of my 2016 Zero SR a little and saved that setting on the "Sport" profile. So i can still programm the custom-mode.
He did this with the original Sevcon-software for that controller.

My Question: Does this get reset when i do a Firmwareupdate at the dealer? I would not want that... the standard-regen is just too weak

Has anyone experieces with that toppic? thanks!

Thanks for the Update! I hope your surgeries heal fast and that the pain is manageble. Stay strong!

What's odd....keeping the SOC at 100% is not 100% of the battery capacity size. so it is never really at 100% SOC.  so how could this effect the battery life?

Yes the battery has about 10% buffer. But thats at 0 and at 100, so even when out 100% SOC are 95% for the battery, its still near 100 and not ideal for the battery. My Lenovor notebook has an Option to only charge it to 80%, similar to teslas. I want that for my Zero!!

My dealer talked to Zero about recommissioned the motor. He was somewhat surprised that Zero indeed recommends to do it, but he (and all other Dealers in Switerland) never got told und trained to do it. Thats strange... He also told me, that in the "near" future, Zero will have altered their Firmwareupdate at the dealer in a way, that automatically should recommission the motor, without having the dealer know mutch about the process or even call Zero for assistance. Maybe they are planning that step for a while and won't train the dealers because it will be obsolete, but thats jus guessing...

my dealer sold about 50 zeros and only once did a commissioning, due to a repair as he said. He gets trained by zero regurarly. if that would be that dangerous, she really should know about that. i told him to get in touch with zero to get zeros take on that

I'm at 12'000 miles on my 2016 SR and have never done it. I'll check with my dealer what he suggests :)

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: SR/F vs GSXs 750
« on: May 28, 2019, 09:17:18 PM »
I've also seen that video and driven the SR/F myself. Here is what i can say:

The SRF, due to its torque, feels faster than it is. I measured 3.6-3.8s 0-100km/h (i have gopro footage if someone is interested).
What i want to say with that: that times aren't slow. But a fast 600cc Bike or bigger is faster. BUT, and this is a big but: In reallife, you are not rinding sprints all the time, and you mostly aren't in the perfect gear on you gas bike (unless riding springs or really fast). On the Zero, you are in perfect gear all the time. And this is why it feels so powerfull.

You definetly can easy notice the difference between my 16SR in power, and even more in power-responsiveness. But it still couldn't beat my last gas bike (KTM 990 SuperDuke).

So what is the verdict: riding the srf, it feels plenty powerfull. But when doing sprints, i wish there were 0.5s less on the clock. Then I could say that it's a Gasbike beater, because you can ride it much more consistant

Someone in europe wanting to sell me his used one? :) need a cheap addition to my 3.8kw chargetank. I was able to use a friends single unit with my chargetank for 2 or 3 times, works like a champ. ;D

I dont believe in a new battery.

But there is something new to come 2019, as I heard. Not saying more  8)

problem fixed, same Rev 53 but they had to manually change the model to the correct one....

Worked for me as well. I think they gave us a wrong firmware last time. Because the regen off throttle was at 10 and regen on breaking on was 15. Max for SR should be 10. After setting the model to SR, it was on 6 and 10 again, and i was not able to set it higher with our user  :(
So i'm back to really weak regen, what sucks. But at least me ODO jumped back and speed is back to normal (odo reading in logfiles before/after were 8.7% apart). Range should feel better now too

Question:
Can i just plug in on a normal outlet (Europe 230V 10A, or seldom 16A) and the charger figures that out (like i did now, with no additional effort)? Or do i have to limit power via app every time i charge at home (95%) or only when i need more power via Type2-charging or other 16/32A plugs?

I will check with the dealer on Saturday, but he told me that the model is set automatically during the update....

should be set automatically..  ;)

u have all my "problems" too, i bet it's the missing model. But I'm sad that i will lose the strong regen:(
