Title: Koso Dead?
Post by: Burton on August 23, 2014, 08:52:54 PM
I was trying to figure out why my brake light wasn't activating when I pressed the rear brake or front and I grounded out my brown and white/red wires on the molex connector -_-

Immediately the koso display goes black less a couple indicator led's (like the oil level / engine kill switch / green LED in upper right)

Did I kill the display? I checked all fuses near the molex connector on the battery case and they looked fine. I opened the koso display and didn't see any blown caps but I didn't take it 100% apart.

Is there a fuse I am missing?

I emailed zero the logs (which show no warnings) with the same questions from my app; which also showed the driving screen but I didn't try to spin the wheels with the display off :)

Thoughts?

Never mind ... Rechecked fuses and found one of the 10amps was indeed bad ... all good now

lol

Still doesn't tell me why the brake light seems stuck in riding light mode only :/ I know my bike wont pass inspection if I can't produce a brake light change with front / rear individually.

Also anyone got pictures of the front brake light switch? I don't think my bike has one >_<

Ok checked the rear brake banjo pressure switch and it doesn't seem to be working. Then I bridged the connector on the bike and it doesn't appear to be working either >_<

No clue what size the banjo bolt pressure switch is and I don't feel like taking it off right now.

Going to go out and get some missing screws I need to make this thing street legal and a license plate light along with a inspection sticker plate (or metal to make one)

It would be helpful to know what Model/Year you have

Ok looking at my wire diagram I see the "brake" light activation is on a different fuse than the running light. I checked this visually earlier but this time I checked it with a meter and sure enough it was blown.

Now I still need to figure out why my banjo pressure switch is not working (either no pressure aka fluid, or it is really broke) and I need to identify which wires go to the front brake switch which I am missing >_<

Found my front brake switch wires, labeled O on my wire diagram :)

So now just need to get the rear bonjo fixed, replace it with a switch, and figure out how I get a switch on the front brake ;)

I do have an extra front brake sitting around but I know the master cylinder is bad -_- it does have a switch though.

The switch snaps and locks into the front brake lever assembly. You have to push a release to remove it.

Apparently the front brake has been replaced wih a Yamaha dirt bike master cylinder and I haven't identified the model yet -_-

It might not even have an aftermarket or OEM switch :/
