proposal for solution:
fill up the batterybox with silicon.
If there is no symptom for abraded cellcoat, silicon should avoid the effects leading to danger of fire.
There is a Silicon providing dielectric quality (ELPECAST® Wepesil potting compound (Silikon SR)).
In spite of missing guaranty this would be worth a trial ?

Joseph.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / free floating rotor in electric motor
« on: April 03, 2015, 04:53:46 PM »
The University of Vienna published a prototype of electric motor.
The rotor is fixed by magnetic bearing.
Vienna will present the prototype at the "Hannover Messe" 13. - 17. 4. 2015.
One can have doubt that the magnetic bearing withstand the tension of our toothed belt,
but i am sure development steps forward.

happy experiences on your ZEROs

dear Friends of Zeros,
please check the thread bolt of the side stand on your Zero S ZF9 2012 or types with similar side stand construction.
Yesterday my S ZF9 almost fall down because the thread bolt got loose.
Up to now my ZF9 2012 run 5100 mls without any problems.

best wishes
Joseph.

Thank you for detailed information,
for i intend to earn a cycle analyst too: can you show me how you conect the shunt, pictures would be fine.
Yesterday i got the experience of a nearly empty battery: at 58 V reduced Power (max. 50 km/h) and finally
at 56 V speedlimit at 20 km/h. There was no sudden shutdown, the bike got continually slowlier by WOT.
(no single bar on the display)

Tanks and a nice day

please check the surface of the fork tube, if there is damage of the surface caused by foreign objects with sharp edges.
My experience:
A view years before every 100 km on my BMW K100 the fork lost oil although the fork oil seal was replaced immediately.
Cause of the glitch was the damage of the fork tube surface probably by a sharp edged grit.
The damage was hardly to be seen, but you can feel the shape with the finger. The defect surface of the fork tube itself
destroys the fork oil seal.

wish you to get the problem solved soon
Joseph
